This administration needs to be tried in the ICC for crimes against humanity 


Three or four specifically discussed cases (and many more not explicitly mentioned)  of named trans women being put in solitary for being trans. Often for months. (One case was like, almost a year.)
Over 60 wheelchair users being put in solitary for using wheelchairs.
Gay people being put in solitary for consensual kissing.
Suicidal people being put in Even Worse Solitary for not wanting to survive the Slightly Less Horrid Solitary.
“The mentally ill placed in isolation for reasons that included attempting suicide, being the victim of a physical attack or exhibiting behavior related to their mental illness.”
“A Guatemalan man spent two months in solitary confinement at a county jail in Maryland. The reason: He had a prosthetic leg.”
“A mentally ill Ukrainian man was put in isolation for 15 days at a detention facility in Arizona. His offense: putting half a green pepper in one of his socks.”
“Moises Tino‐Lopez, 23, from Guatemala, died in 2016 in an isolation cell. Once in isolation, the facility did not ensure he got needed anti-seizure medication. He then died from a seizure.” (And they gave no reason for putting him in isolation, either.)
And they only keep records of solitaries over 14 days. All the cases listed here are 15+ days of solitary, otherwise they wouldn’t even be on the record.
Only 11% of detainees have lawyers. Once you’re in solitary, you pretty much can’t call your lawyer anymore even if you have one. You certainly can’t get one if you hadn’t had one before.

 deserted warehouse. The tinted lights are dim, some
 flickering without any discernible pattern. A heavy pair of
 boots stomp rhythmically as an man makes his way across the
 room, the chair firmly in his grip. The man, a nameless
 HENCHMAN type, is who someone with manners would refer to
 as "burly" or "built."
 He stops underneath the brightest light in the room,
 setting the chair down and revealing its occupant. He is
 wearing
 a golden "RR" symbol decorating his chest. Despite the sack
 covering his features, one can still make out his raven
 hair poking out of the burlap fabric.

 HENCHMAN
 (gruff)
 Seems like the Batman... is losing
 his touch
 RED ROBIN's head twitches underneath the sack.
 RED ROBIN
 (muffled)

 does now. All we can produce nowadays is a rough, scratchy, bullshit excuse

I’m not into fashion, but I love reading about the history and evolution of it.


My favorite textile history fact is that the ancient Romans loved really sheer, floaty silks, but at the time the fashion in China, where the silk was produced, was for heavy, intricate brocades. I find the mental illness and relatability thing very interesting. I think the gradual normalisation of being open about emotional experiences and feelings in general is ace. And I think creating images and words about mental illness can also expose some of the giant flaws with the rigidity of the psychiatric model when it comes to the DSM (preoccupations with fitting into one label-one box-one specific set of symptoms are challenged when you see or read stuff you relate to by someone with a different Dx, for example. This is positive). Sharing drawings and being related to has helped me see my own issues as a much more complex Web of Stuff than whatever clinical list of bullet points I may resemble most closely. Two or three years ago I think the dialogue in the bottom image would have pissed me off. "How dare anyone who didn't have severe illness relate to my experience?" Etc. I self-perpetuated negative beliefs about myself and my behaviours because I'd been treated as "young woman with X, Y, Z Disorders" for so long. And I really thought everything I felt-went through must have been because of some psychiatric acronyms. Then I thought some more and realised what people were probably relating to at large was my human experience; My insecurities and fears and happiness and silliness and all the threads of my personality that run independent of my illness or labels i'd had lobbed at me. We are multi-threaded, and they can feed into one another, but blimey do we all have shit going on. This is a right ramble from what is probably a giant can o' worms, but I just find it interesting ya know? Then I thought some more and realised what people were probably relating to at large was my human experience; My insecurities and fears and happiness and silliness and all the threads of my personality that run independent of my illness or labels i'd had lobbed at me. We are multi-threaded, and they can feed into one another, but blimey do we all have shit going on. This is a right ramble from what is probably a giant can o' worms, but I just find it interesting ya know? I want everyone to watch this video. Philip DeFranco is talking about a YouTube channel called DaddyOFive, ran by a man blogging about his family’s everyday life and regularly uploading “prank” videos. This man and his wife prank each other and their children, who are also made to prank each other for more material they put into monetized videos. As you will see in this video, the way they treat their children (especially Cody, who I assume to be 7-9 years old) is outright horrid and abusive, though. Cody seems to be the only one of the children who gets visibly upset over his parents’ “pranks” fairly frequently, begging them to leave him alone and quit messing with him and yelling at them to stop.In the first clip that’s shown in DeFranco’s video, the parents pour invisible ink all over the floor and blame Cody for it, filming his reaction.He is shown yelling and crying, nearly panicking and insisting that he has nothing to do with it, but they don’t stop.Instead, they keep yelling and cursing at him at the top of their lungs, only to tell him and his brother that it’s “just a prank” once they stopped crying.Another clip shows the mother filming Cody and yelling at him for not being able to “take a joke”, manipulating him and putting all the blame on him instead of apologizing.They constantly follow him around with their camera, not giving him any personal space and filming as many of his reactions as possible to humiliate him in front of thousands of viewers.But it gets worse than that.A different clip shows the father pushing Cody face first into a bookshelf. He is then shown crying on his bed, with a bleeding nose, next to a blood-stained pillow.His father then claimed that it was “red ink” and that he simply had a scrape underneath his nose.On top of that, the man who runs this channel uploaded a video titled “BLOCKING ALL THE HATERS”, ranting about the people complaining about their videos and pointing out how horribly they treat their kids in front of his children, even making sure they listen to every word he says.In DeFranco’s video, it becomes obvious that they constantly manipulate, emotionally abuse and physically abuse their children, egging them on and keeping them under control by making them say things like: “At least you don’t hit us like most parents!” I encourage everyone to watch this video to get a better idea of the situation. If you can, that is. Social services have been called on this family before, but no consequences have followed
I legit feel ill watching the short clips of the kids, but I still believe it should be broadcasted what pieces of garbage these parents are.Fuck them. Fuck them and their greedy fucking souls.Please please PLEASE do not watch the video if you are triggerd by any of the warnings. I personally am not, but even I found it incredibly hard and distrubing to watch.

I felt the same way. I will never understand how parents can treat and manipulate their children this way and never feel remorse.Here’s an addition that shows just how much they terrorize them.
They pretend to destroy their children’s possessions and laugh at their reactions. That alone is enough to leave deep scars on anyone’s mental health, especially a child’s.DeFranco mentioned that these people tend to terrorize Cody the most, but looking through their list of videos, I couldn’t believe just how many videos are about Cody.They obviously enjoy humiliating their kids, but to me, it seems like they’re intentionally abusing Cody the most for not playing along as much as they wish he did. I also feel like this is just another tactic to keep their children under control and have them play along.An indirect way of saying “Don’t be as whiny and difficult as Cody, or else we’ll treat you the same way.”When Cody yelled at them and said “You made me go through all this just for a stupid prank?!”, it broke my heart. These people don’t have a single shred of love or empathy for their children.

Another addition:Apparently, they uploaded a video in which they made Cody think he was going to be put up for adoption, filming his reaction. As you can imagine, Cody was horrified, begging them to let him stay.Supporters of his parents have used his reaction to try and prove that their kids are happy, claiming that Cody wouldn’t have fought so hard to stay if he was unhappy with his family. Of course, Mike Martin (the father) reblogged the tweets defending him.These people publicly abuse and humiliate their children in exchange for money. That’s not an assumption, it’s a proven fact. It doesn’t matter whether the children are aware of the abuse or not, or how they feel about their parents’ “pranks”.Of course the thought of being taken away from your home and the family you’ve known for your whole life would terrify a child as young as Cody. Their parents have manipulated them into thinking that they’re lucky to live with them and pressured them to play along with their “pranks” for several years. They’ve made their children think that this kind of life is normal and that they have nothing to complain about. They don’t know any better.A child’s horrified reaction to the thought of being placed into a completely unfamiliar home consisting of strangers they think they’ll be forced to live with for the rest of their life is not proof that a child is not being abused.In fact, most children who live in abusive homes love their parents dearly and can’t imagine living without them because they are so emotionally dependent on them.Ignoring that is incredibly dangerous.

The rise of right wing nationalism is not just an isolated US phenomenon.

Not only it isn’t just the US, but Europe started much earlier. Italy in particular never got around dealing with fascists (even monuments to the regime are still up), the Italian right is notoriously and literally still fascist (there is even a party called Movimento Fascismo e Libertà - Fascism and Freedom Movement) with parties like CasaPound Italia and Forza Nuova still active, with the center-right being not far off but mostly keeping a public face of only “conservatives”. Mussolini’s granddaughter Alessandra Mussolini is still active in politics and a member of the senate and of the European Parliament for Central Italy.


This is 100% true, Europe has a long history with both far left and far right politics, but the far right was still for the most part not that popular except in isolated incidents like in Ukraine or Golden Dawn in Greece, but I make the claim that the far right is making a pretty effective and large comeback because neoliberal austerity measures and other economic factors have hurt many European countries. Since the left in these countries has been ineffective in addressing the grievances of the people or flat out infiltrated or thwarted by the state. The populist right was emotionally appealing in a time of economic need (much like the Nazis were in Germany who scapegoated Jewish people) and has thus surged by blaming refugees, immigration, etc. The left would have been able to counter the right in many of these countries without using economic scapegoating but as I said many were prevented or attacked. So although the presence of the far right has never left Europe I do think there are reasons to believe it’s on the rise just like in the United States. In Austria the Greens BARELY beat the far right wing party and Poland is a good example of the far right taking over as well.

Oh yes, absolutely. The combined economic crisis of early 2000’s and the current immigration/refugee situation created the perfect panoramic for fear mongering and scapegoating tactics that the extreme right is so adept at using. They’ve been gaining ground for quite some time now. The ineptitude and infighting common in the European left also meant they were unable to create a coherent narrative and opposition (and don’t get me started on the racism is not a thing here” moderates).I wrote only about Italy because that’s what I have personal and deeper experience with, and to remember/tell people that fascism never really went away. (I still want to go back there and deface that horrid obelisk to Mussolini in front of the Foro Italicoâ€Ļ)

I saw a news report about this on T.V., she was a straight A Student who had perfect attendance and everything. Even her teachers started looking down on her like she was scum of the earth. The only people who knew she was doing this as an experiment were her school principal, her health care teacher, her boyfriend, and her mother. Her own siblings thought she was pregnant!I mean even her friends turned on her, it was horrid. Very very sad, and as soon as she revealed during an assembly that the pregnancy was false, a lot of people were in shock as she brought up all the horrible things they said and did to her because they thought she was pregnant.The reason for the experiment was to see how people would react and treat her if they thought she was pregnant, as opposed as to treating her as the straight A “Perfect” student they usually did. And it proved that people were horrible scumbags to her as soon as they thought she was.

I saw a news report about this on T.V., she was a straight A Student who had perfect attendance and everything.
