Remember to properly credit artists when you post! (Regarding Apparition Roommate comic): reddpenn anonymous asked Just to let you know, I come from reddit where your Roommate comic has been posted, with a link to your tumblr in the comments. Are you ok with that? If not, people are willing to stop posting it there if they don't have your consent. Ah, yeah, I just looked up those posts. That's a little discouraging. Reddit is a really neat website, and I'm actually active in a lot of communities on there! So l'm well aware that reddit has an option to post a submission as a link, meaning you can link directly to the post on my blog and still receive all your karma and upvotes and comments, but I also still receive the traffic to my blog. And I am TOTALLY COOL with that! I think it's a really good system! It lets you share content without reposting! What people on reddit seem to be doing with this comic, though, is saving the panels to their computer and then stitching them all together in photoshop and posting them without linking back to me. And then a bunch of the comments are saying "who made this?" And THEN they're belatedly linking back to me. To find any kind of credit you have to scroll through the comment section for a quite a while. And that really sucks, because there's already a system in place to link to me and credit me, and it's a system that takes much less effort. I would really appreciate if people did that instead. I understand that the reality of being an artist on the internet is that people will repost your art everywhere without credit and it's impossible to stop them (heck, it kept happening to my Steven Universe comics back when I was doing those, this is not a New Problem), and I understand it comes from a place of people enjoying this stuff and wanting to share it! Look, I can't stop you. And this'll probably be my last word on the subject; I don't want to make a big deal out of this or keep bringing it up, because I get it! This stuff just happens! But I can at least make that request and hope that some people respect it. #my roommate is an apparition #Anonymous 96 notes Remember to properly credit artists when you post!
