finnglas: jenniferrpovey: zucca101: magicalhomesandstuff: This is Foxglove. It’s a classy umbrella boutique in Hong Kong, that sells silver-handled English “brollies” but it has a big secret. Foxglove caters to the fantasy of being a British spy. There is one umbrella’s silver handle that will open the door to the posh, luxury world of the gentleman spy.  The dining room and bar look like a private jet.  The hallway looks like a cruise ship.  Then, there’s a room that looks like a high-speed train car. There’s one other hidden entrance that can only be accessed by guests who know to place their hand on a floral painting at the end of a corridor until it glows. This signals the undercover bartender to open the door where a classic library awaits, a hidden sanctuary of leather club chairs, marble counters and books all around. Pretty swanky, huh?  Then, when you’re ready to go, take the elevator back down to the umbrella shop. http://www.foxglovehk.com/ That is exquisite… HOW did I not know about this? Grrr…I could have used it in a book! wait so did Kingsman just film here or…? : finnglas: jenniferrpovey: zucca101: magicalhomesandstuff: This is Foxglove. I will DIE WITH MY HONOR Gear =/= Jear Get =/= Jet Gift =/= Jift Give =/= Jive In English, words with a ‘G’ followed by an ‘e’ or an ‘i’ can be pronounced with either a hard ‘G’ or a soft ‘G’. Words with Germanic roots such as ‘gear’, ‘get’, ‘gift’, ‘give’ (see above) are pronounced with a hard ‘g’ while words with Latin or Greek roots such as ‘gem’, ‘general’, ‘giraffe’, ‘giant’, are pronounced with a soft ‘g’. So no, it’s not exactly a “general rule” that ‘g’ followed by an ‘e’ or an ‘i’ makes a soft ‘g’ sound.  Additionally, “GIF” is an ACRONYM starting with a word that begins with a hard ‘g’ sound, so “GIF” is therefore pronounced with a hard ‘g’. We fight with honor via @greenwoodthegreat. I could not have said it better, my friend. Thor agrees. This is a perfect compromise, it makes everyone unhappy. You know, I can’t argue with that. badacts: Sin settles later than most. It’s not until Mary dies that she finally does settle. Neil looks away from the car, dazzled by firelight and the sense memory of her daemon breaking apart, and finds silvery speckled fur with jet-black points and reddish eyes the same colour as Nathaniel Wesninski’s hair. Just like that, he knows she won’t shift again. He wants to run and leave her behind. Instead, the first night they’re alone when he’s finally holed up somewhere safe enough to sleep, he presses his face into her coat and says her name like a prayer. the foxhole court hdm au, 31k words, andreil, rated teen and up, complete check out the daemons here read the fic here on ao3 : CORVUS LPES LUPUS badacts: Sin settles later than most.
