America, Community, and Crime: The Newest Purge Film Is Taking You Back To How lt All Began With "The First Purge" @balleralert THE FIRST PURGE JULY 4 The Newest Purge Film Is Taking You Back To How It All Began With "The First Purge"- Blogged by: @RaquelHarrisTV ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For all you horror film fans, specifically of the ThePurge franchise, get ready because its fourth project is coming soon and it’s taking you back to the beginning. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The newest “Purge” film will be a prequel and will tell the story of the “first Purge night,” announced Universal-Comcast Corp. The film will be titled, “The First Purge” and will still be produced by Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes. Writer-director James DeMonaco, the original writer of the series, will be coming back and will work alongside Gerard McMurray, who will be directing. 'The First Purge' will follow the same release date as its predecessor, 'The Purge: Election Year', and will debut the weekend of 4th of July. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you’ve never seen any of the films, you might think it’s just like any other horror film. However, unlike any other scary movie 'The Purge' has continuously taken steps to highlight the injustices and greed of America, tackling issues like homelessness, racism and institutional and political oppression. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Here is the synopsis of 'The First Purge': “To push the crime rate below one percent for the rest of the year, the New Founding Fathers of America (NFFA) test a sociological theory that vents aggression for one night in one isolated community. But when the violence of oppressors meets the rage of the marginalized, the contagion will explode from the trial-city borders and spread across the nation.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This time the film’s creators may just take a few jabs at Trump and his followers by the looks of their poster. Will you be watching?
