Climbing, Food, and Friends: LIFE IS MEANT TO BE ENJOYED Nowadays everyone including you are being subjected to a socially constructed myth that you’re either “working and paying your dues”, or you’re “being lazy”. There’s no in-between. Enjoyment is greedy, work is good. 🤔 The reason so many people in the American workforce are unhappy is because they are being told a lie: getting ahead, scaling the ladder, or making more money are supposed to make you happy. But this is not true. Any culture with an ounce of wisdom will tell you that what makes you happy are: ✔️Connections with other people. ✔️Companionship. ✔️New experiences, and discovering yourself. This is why other countries are more “people oriented” versus being simply career minded. 👇Here’s the solution to start enjoying life! Simply shift priorities! Do the unthinkable and put “getting ahead” and climbing your individual or corporate career ladders on the back-burner. Prioritize meeting people and enjoying life. Find ways to supplement your income and turn your full-time job into a part-time. Spend the rest of your extra hours taking dance classes, cooking food, throwing dinner parties, going out, or just relaxing in nature. - Finally, a very important point to make is that we become scared that making lifestyle-happiness-low stress a priority over, say, climbing a corporate ladder or working more, is that you’ll end up a “bum”, you won’t have enough saved for “retirement”, maybe your friends will think you’re a loser. Nope. By leading a more relaxed lifestyle, your performance will go up. Happiness=greater performance. You’re more likely to become a very successful person by cutting the anxiety out of your life, and giving yourself more space for your imagination to flourish into new ideas. Try it out, and let me know what happens! - life enjoy millionairementor

Advice, Food, and Fresh: fireable no longer going to pursue a career! id like to be a rock. thanks whatblackparadise metamorphic or igneous itsmurjana neither, dwayne the Some nifty websites for cooking at home These are just a few websites I have under my bookmarks for when I look up recipes and whatnot. I figured if anyone else can get some use out of them I may as well share. Two Foods - Compare the nutritional value of two foods. Useful for finding healthier brands or comparing white to wheat to gluten free…things like that. Food52 Hotline - Ask for cooking help and advice from other people even while in the middle of cooking. Also has a stash of recipes. Seasonal Food Guide - What produce is in season right now in your state or when a particular produce will be in season…for those who try to eat organic and fresh. Some produce will have recipes pop up next to them. My Fridge Food - REALLY helpful if you are tight on money and-or can’t make a grocery run, just lazy, or trying something new. Check off things you have in your kitchen and this site searches for recipes you can make with what you’ve got (I’ve personally had to use this site so much). 40 meals in 4 hours, 30 Meals in 3 Hours, 20 Meals in 2 Hours or 7 Meals in 1 Hour - For when you don’t have a whole lot of time every single day to plan meals, but can set aside a few hours in one day to prepare and freeze meals that can later just be tossed into a slow cooker (Slow cookers are life savers! There are sooo many easy, toss-it-together recipes for slow cookers). AllRecipes - My personal favorite site for looking up recipes because they make it easy to search by type of dish, type of diet, by how cheap or quick it is to cook. And recipes can be submitted and reviewed by anyone (so you can find 20 different ways to make a single dish). My Grocery Deals, Broke and Healthy Recipes, and Compare Price - I haven’t really used these three a whole lot so I have no real input other than basically they help during those times in life you have to be really frugal. billsimportantposts
