Community, Memes, and American: First Black Oscar Award Winner, Hattie McDaniel Gets A Biopic @balleralert First Black Oscar Award Winner Hattie McDaniel Gets A Biopic – blogged By @lanaladonna ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ According to reports, a biopic for African American and Hollywood pioneer, HattieMcDaniel is now in the works. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For those of us who’ve slept on black history- McDaniel was the first African American (man or woman) to receive an Oscar. Her role as “Mammy” in the film “Gone With The Wind” earned her the Oscar for “Best Supporting Actress” in 1940. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Despite the film’s success and eight Oscar Awards, McDaniel, along with the rest of her black castmates weren’t allowed at the premiere of the film in Georgia. The color of her skin also caused for McDaniel to not be allowed to sit with the rest of the nominated cast at the Oscar Awards, but allowed her a seat in the back of the venue. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ According to Variety, producers of the film, AaronMagnani and AlysiaAllen got their hands on the rights to Jill Watts’ published biography, “Hattie McDaniel: Black Ambition, White Hollywood” to help them with the film. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Though people in the black community criticized her for playing roles that they felt fed into racial stereotypes for African Americans, McDaniel served as a pioneer and example for aspiring African American actors and actresses for generations to come. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Considering the fact that the first black man to receive a golden globe for best actor in a TV series happened just a week ago, this biopic is a big deal, and long overdue. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Continue to rest in peace Ms. McDaniel and congratulations.

Cheating, Doctor, and Friends: You Shared Your Life With Me On Social Media, How Dare You Skip Details @balleralert You Shared Your Life With Me On Social Media, How Dare You Skip Details -blogged by @peachkyss ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Social Media seems like the go to place to vent your personal issues or share some of your favorite moments in your life. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ People share the moment they found out they were pregnant, doctor appointments, and gender reveals. Then once the baby is born, you show your followers or friends a picture of a foot. What the hell? That’s our baby now, show us the baby’s face. How dare you skip the important details? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Some people go as far as posting that their man or woman was cheating, they caught them with someone else, or sharing details about how wack the penis was. Then as soon as someone asks them a question about the situation, they want to get in their feelings and tell to you to mind your business. Why should we mind our business when you have shared every detail with us? Like, it’s our business now not just yours. We need closure too. He broke your heart. Hell, our heart is aching as well. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you don’t want people in your business, then stop posting your business for the world to see. We will ask questions since you like to share every aspect of your life. Either answer the questions or don’t post your personal business. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Simple right?

Being Alone, Comfortable, and Crush: Why Millennials Are Taking "L's" In The Dating Game: Part 25 Kiss US CAM Glorifying Situationships, Side-chicks, & Side-dudes Is Actually A Thing @Regrann from @theshaderoom - TSR STAFF: Thembi So. @ThembiTV_ on Instagram & Twitter _______________________________________________ People have a weird obsession with wanting to find the one, and when they do, an even weirder obsession with wanting to have options. It is extremely imperative to make sure you can be alone and happy, before you can be happy with someone else. You will never know if you’re choosing someone out of love or loneliness until you’re comfortable with being alone and can therefore hopefully avoid thinking you can find different things in different people when you’re really just lacking within yourself. ________________________________________________ If I see one more “I won’t post my MCM (man crush Monday) because I don’t feel like fighting about OUR boyfriend today” or “I just f****d your girl now she OUR girl” posts my eyes just might fall out from rolling them a little too hard. _________________________________________________ Glorifying these types of relationships is probably the biggest ‘L’ we as millenials are taking when it comes to the dating game. Women are okay with sharing men for whatever reason, and men are okay with sharing women because and I quote ‘we get all the benefits without having to put in work as her man’ – true words from a friend of mine who basks in the glory of being a side-dude. _________________________________________________ What baffles me the most is these are the same people that talk about the infamous relationship goals, and ‘real’ love and relationships, and what they want out of a man and woman, that does not correlate with what they're getting from their man or woman-who is also someone else’s man or woman. _________________________________________________ Millenials as a whole, maybe we should start practicing what we preach…but I mean hey, why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free right? You see, everyone is going to have an opinion.
