Driving, Life, and Memes: Ronald Gasser Sentenced To 30 Years In Prison For Killing Joe McKnight In Road Rage Incdent @balleralert Ronald Gasser Sentenced To 30 Years In Prison For Killing Joe McKnight In Road Rage Incident - blogged by @MsJennyb ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Back in 2016, tragedy struck at a Terrytown intersection after a road-rage dispute involving Ronald Gasser and former NFL baller, Joe McKnight turned fatal. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The incident took place after a 5-mile race-induced confrontation that began with aggressive driving on a bridge and ended when Gasser firing three shots through McKnight’s passenger window. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Initially, Gasser, 56, was charged with 2nd-degree murder, which carries a life sentence, but in January a jury elected for a lesser charge and convicted the shooter of manslaughter. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Since then though, Gasser has been sentenced to 30 of the possible 40 years in prison for the death of McKnight. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “To you, it might have seemed like an insignificant life to take, but it wasn’t,” McKnight’s mother said during her victim impact statement. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The mother of McKnight’s child also released a statement, saying she will make sure her son doesn’t grow up to hate him, saying, “Ronald Gasser hear me when I say, it will be my life’s mission to make sure my son Jayden doesn’t grow up with hate for you.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “Not because you don’t deserve it, but because he should not have hate in his heart,” Michelle Quick said.

cnn.com, Fashion, and Memes: Panama's U.S. Ambassador Savs He Can No Longer Serve Trump and Quits @balleralert ERZA AE Panama’s U.S. Ambassador Says He Can No Longer Serve Trump and Quits- Blogged by @tktrinidad ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The U.S. ambassador to Panama, John Feeley has decided to step down. Due to the timing of his announcement, one would think it was because of the grotesque comments Trump made about certain countries being shitholes( which Trump denies he said). However, according to CNN, Feeley decided to leave his post because of his differences with the Trump administration and turned in his resignation letter before the immigration meeting happened. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Feeley states in his resignation letter, " As a junior foreign service officer, I signed an oath to serve faithfully the president and his administration in an apolitical fashion, even when I might not agree with certain policies. My instructors made clear that if I believed I could not do that, I would be honor bound to resign. That time has come.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Feeley let the White House, the State Department, and the Panamanian government know he was leaving for personal reasons and March 9th will be his last day. He also states in his resignation letter that the relationship between the U.S. and Panama is a strong one. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Feeley became the ambassador in January 2016 and Deputy Chief of Mission Roxanne Cabral will fill in for him until a new ambassador is named.
