On Complex’s ‘Open Late’ show, Lil Xan spoke about the passing of Mac Miller as well as possibly quitting music. On the latest Open Late show, Lil Xan has this to say: “What Mac Miller meant to me..he was my idol, my hero, the main reason why I even wanted to really pursue music, because music was never what I wanted to do. I wanted to be a photographer and just got tangled in this life. But he’s the reason why I pursued music and mainly the reason why I’m quitting music. Plus, all the hate. I just don’t want to deal with that no more.” He also said “The last time I saw Mac Miller, we were just becoming good friends. I saw him at his last performance at Hotel Cafe. It was amazing. It was a 100 people only allowed in there, diehard fans. I think I met his parents back in the green room. We even met Jason Sudeikis. And as I was leaving, I said, ‘Thank you so much, Mac,’ took a picture. I tell him every time how much of an inspiration he is to me. He was the nicest guy.” You can watch the whole episode on Complex’s Open Late show. Selena Quintanilla Will Receive Posthumous Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame-blogged by @thereal__bee ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ENews reports that Mexican-American icon SelenaQuintanilla will be receiving a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Nov. 3. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Suzette Quintanilla, the late singer's sister, announced the news via social media. That same day, Selena will also receive another exciting honor. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ "Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, actress, producer and Texas native EvaLongoria will be there to proclaim November 3rd as the official 'Selena Day' in the city of Los Angeles," wrote Suzette. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Suzette and the rest of the Quintanilla family will be present for the 6:30 PM ceremony. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Last year, Longoria took to Instagram to announce that she too would be receiving a star the same year as her idol. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ In a heartfelt post Longoria wrote, "I could never have dreamed that one day I would receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. But even more ironic is that the same year I receive my star, so does my idol, my inspiration, my fellow Tejana, my fellow Corpus Christi native, Selena Quintanilla. She was the reason I even dared to dream that a better life was possible. And that that life didn't have to distance you from where you came from," she said. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ "So many people become famous and leave a place without ever crediting it with the role it played in shaping their lives. Selena was proud of being from Corpus Christi, Texas. And that made me proud to be from Corpus." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ She continued, "She blazed the way for all of us and I will be forever grateful to her for not only that but for the pure joy I felt when I got to see her perform. Her smile, her charisma, her beauty put every single person who watched her under a spell. Thank you, Selena.
