in 2017 dior copied the design of a traditional romanian coat from the county of bihor and sold it for 30,000 euro, giving no credit to the local artisans. in response, romanian fashion magazine beau monde helped the community create their own brand, bihor couture, which sells the original coat, handmade to order, for 500 euro a piece. they also sell other traditional clothing and jewelry for much more accessible prices (5-45 euro). theyโ€™ve been hugely successful so far, and currently have enough pre-orders to cover 4.5 years of work, with 100% of the profits returning to the community.ย 
itโ€™s surprisingly common for big name fashion designers like dior, gaultier, tom ford and altuzarra to copy traditional romanian clothing and sell it for ridiculous prices, with minimal original input, while giving nothing back to the community where these designs originated.ย itโ€™s completely unfair that a big name designer can just steal so much hard work and misuse it to make huge profits.ย

I wondered if I could fall asleep on a cake and have sweet dreams. I didnโ€™t. It was pretty gross really and wasnโ€™t easy to wash off.
A few years later, outtakes from the shoot were sold to Getty Images as stock photos. I didnโ€™t know this until 2011 when one of those photos made #13 on the wildly popular Buzzffed.com list of โ€œ60 Completely Unusable Stock Photos.โ€

when wild animals get released itโ€™s nice to think that they are silently thanking us for saving them, but thatโ€™s what we donโ€™t want. we want them to be ready for life in the wild, which means we want them to hate us and want to avoid humans forever, because that gives them the best chance of survival. the best thanks you can get from a rehabilitated wild animal is when they fly/run/swim the fuck away from you as soon as you open the cage and never look back. those are the successes.

This man is not handling this bird right at all, and wild great horned owls are never friendly. 
That owl should not be put into those positions or used to promote such a disgusting lie by a man who obviously doesnโ€™t know what heโ€™s doing.
