Bad, Children, and Comfortable: SWeet Cakes We lost everything' Christian bakers fined $135K for refusing to make lesbian couple's wedding cake chaotic-tides: xaldien: startlememe-trash: karadin: trueheart46: plaidandredlipstick: hussyknee: I love how they left out the part about them giving out the lesbian couple’s personal information to send them death threats, running them out of their home, and encouraging other fundies to petition to have their children taken away. **examines fingernails** Also the fact that they raised half million dollars from other raging homophobes to fund this bigotry. I hope the dickholes lose the shirts off their backs and have to live out of a van. But that’s too much to hope for. I just wanna add that the lesbian couple were getting married because their mutual friend had just died of cancer and they were adopting her two daughters… and that the death threats were so bad that they had to quit their jobs and move. it’s never just about a cake. it’s about the precedent you set when you allow ppl to discriminate. it’s about all the disgusting bigots that crawl out of the woodwork when they feel like they have the right to hate. Yeah I mean if they don’t feel comfortable making the cake due to their beliefs then a polite decline is fine. It’s when, as previous stated, people try to discriminate especially so aggressively that things start to escalate. No, trueheart, a polite decline is NOT FINE. Let me explain why, when you operate a business, you are licensed  in your state, county and city. To get a license you agree that you will not discriminate on the basis of ethnicity, religion, gender and sexuality. When you decline service for these reasons (not for example, that the customer was rude, or bounced a check) you are breaking the law and you will be fined. The way to avoid this is to a) operate your business without a license or b) move to where the group you want to discriminate against is not protected by law. I would agree but, freedom of religion is a thing, if the bakery was solely owned by them, they would have the right to decline. If it was a mass produced workplace like McDonald’s it would be a different story. You should not force someone to do something against their religion, which is why this discussion is hard to decide for many people. Oh, fuck you. They’re a business and have to follow business laws. The courts found that freedom of religion does not apply to a law that specifically says denial of service based on sexual orientation is illegal. Point blank. If you don’t know how business laws work, don’t open a business.

Being Alone, Ass, and Click: VERDICT! NET NEUTRALITY IS DEAD For now mooncaps: drtanner: chakrabot: slitheringink: artofcarmen: fyeahwhovians: raygender: themediafix: Breaking news: The D.C. Appeals Court just killed Net Neutrality. This could be the end of the Internet as we know it. But it doesn’t have to be. Tell the FCC to restore Net Neutrality: http://bit.ly/1iOOjoe they want to make the internet like tv. with channels and paying to get to specific websites and things. net neutrality = not doing that This impacts every internet user. Please signal boost the hell out of this and sign the petition if you are American I do not reblog things like this very often, but this affects me both personally and my business as a freelance artist. In the economy here; cash is already strapped as it is. You bet your ass companies would suck the ever living life out of misc. art sites. I don’t want it to ever come down to me choosing between groceries or purchasing a new tier package via comcast to be able to access tumblr or DeviantArt (let alone not guaranteeing I’ll even be seen by my customer base since they may not want to pay out their asses either). It doesn’t seem important to most, but I do 90% of my business online entirely. Please sign up, fight for this and share it with your followers/friends/family and urge them to give them hell as well. Not writing related, but this is incredibly important. While we pay for service via ISPs, the internet has been a relatively free space where everyone, no matter their income level, is able to connect, access a wealth of information, and express themselves. The Internet has become a major part of our culture as human beings and the notion that ISPs might be able to limit what sites I can access unless I pay them more is utterly sickening. A lot of us are cash strapped as is, and I’d rather not be limited even more by someone else’s greed. Net Neutrality is essential and I hope you guys will understand why it needs to remain. -Morgan P.S. Signal boost this if you’re able. “ limit what sites I can access unless I pay them more”  limit what sites I can access unless I pay them more  limit what sites I can access unless I pay them more  limit what sites I can access unless I pay them more  limit what sites I can access unless I pay them more DO YOU WANT THIS? NO?? CLICK THE LINK. REBLOG. As I understand this ruling, it means that businesses now have to pay extra to ISPs to have access to their websites through that ISP provided at a reasonable speed. If you don’t pay, users’ access to your website will be slowed to a crawl - so independent people and small businesses can forget about getting onto that high speed access tier.  This means that the American internet is going to be firmly under the control of those who have the most money. You’ll only get to see the content of those who can pay the ISPs to provide access at a reasonable speed. This means that you can expect to see skewed representation of just about everything, with those bigger businesses who can afford to pay ISPs a premium for access deciding what you can and cannot read, view and consume on the internet. This is not something that we have in the UK. Our ISPs compete with each other to provide higher speeds, better services and lower prices, but because there’s a monopoly in the US of a few ISPs who provide services, they can afford to do this to you. You can’t go anywhere else, after all. Everyone in the US needs to sign that petition, call their representatives, write angry letters and do whatever you can to tell your government that this ruling is Not Okay. This may be the thing that finally makes me leave this shithole country.

When she resists, he tries to rape her. What will you do? This is the situation a 13 year old boy in Chihuahua, Mexico, found himself in. Early morning, the attacker busted into his home and started violently hitting his mother. The scared kid tried to fight off the goon and when that didn't work ran upstairs to get his father's gun. He came back down only to realise the attacker was attempting rape. Alone and terrified, the boy shot his mother's violator repeatedly until he stopped moving. The identity of the attacker remains unknown to this day, however the court was quick to decide that given the brutality of the case, the boy be tried as an adult and be given 20 years in prison. It was definitely a defense. He’s 13 years now, just imagine how traumatized he must be after watching his mother getting sexually abused and brutally beaten by a stranger? I am sure, if the boy was white American he would be carried carefully out of the house and would be given probation. That’s how white privilege works all around the world. Here you can sign a petition. My heart broke. Please, share to raise awareness.

Apple, Facebook, and Football: tibets Reporter wears grape costume to defend boy suspended for banana suit shatterstag: gaymergirls: basedheisenberg: Real recognizes real. I finally got curious and decided to google this story, and the headline is just the tip of the iceberg.  Let it never be said again that journalism is a humorless business. Covering an odd tale about a 14-year-old autistic boy who was handcuffed by police and suspended for running down the sidelines of a high school football game at halftime wearing a banana costume, Washington, D.C. reporter Pat Collins donned a grape suit and went out to get his story. Speaking to Bryan Thompson, who pulled the prank on Sept. 14 and found himself at the center of a controversy over the school’s response, Collins’ sarcastic outrage seemed palpable. “School officials accused him of being disruptive and disrespectful,” Collins said. “Frankly, I don’t see what all the fuss is about.” He asked the student: “Why a banana? Why not a … grape?” “I don’t know,” Thompson replied. “Potassium is great.” Following the prank, Colonial Forge High School Principal Karen Spillman suspended Thompson for 10 days, and even recommended that he be kicked out of school for the entire year. Shortly thereafter, Thompson had composed his own rap song about the incident (called “Free Banana Man!”), set up a Facebook page dedicated to “Banana Man,” and someone even launched a petition calling for his suspension to be lifted. Thompson’s outrage at the punishment was shared by his fellow students, who began creating yellow t-shirts that read, “Free Banana Man!” So the school did what schools so often do when their authority is challenged: they banned the shirts, began confiscating them, and sent students to detention for supporting their classmate. That’s when the American Civil Liberties Union got involved, telling the principal that her actions were unconstitutional. “But when you think about it, you might see [the school’s] point,” Collins jokingly concluded. “It starts with a banana. Then, all of the sudden, you have an apple, and an orange, and maybe a grape! And before you know it, you have fruit salad in the schools! We can’t have that.” The school’s principal was ultimately forced to resign, and Thompson has since returned to his studies. [x] NICE

Apparently, Fire, and Guns: change.org Trending petition Matt There's a new petition taking off on Change.org, and we think you might be interested in signing it. ssj14goku: ineffabledreaming: calyfornia: ssj14goku: dildomuncher3000: ssj14goku: domozillla: ssj14goku: thetwinkerbell: ssj14goku: Change.org - Petition To Hire 1,000,000 People To Put Their Fingers In The Shoot Hole Of Peoples’ Guns So They Can’t Shoot Them It’s still gonna shoot… And they’re gonna lose a finger No. The finger blocks the bullet. We can do this This is a gun we’re talking about. The projectile is fired using an explosion, not by compressed air of a toy gun or the elastic forces of a sling shot. People would be lucky if they only lost their finger. The finger blocks it The finger won’t block it - the shaft is only there for keeping the bullet straight, all the propulsion happens behind the bullet. The bullet would rip through the finger, not that many would actually fit without the victim being a child, and beyond. The bullet would go forward a little and then hit the finger and stop it’s not that hard to understand why not you try that with a cannon? put your whole body there and fire it. would the big “bullet” hit you and stop? no. the finger will not be able to block the bullet and will eventually make you lose a finger. if this is really true, why not this happened to all of the police forces already? we could have saved a lot of lives. but it doesnt. ssj14goku why don’t you demonstrate to us your theory since no one here is apparently understanding this simple science. But use a carrot instead of your finger, PLEASE! Get a small, thick carrot that looks about the same measurements as your finger and stick it into a gun and fire. Would work just the same as a real finger, right? The carrot blocks it
