lolzandtrollz: See? Now You Know How To Whistle With Your Fingers: a Fig 1: Form an "A" shape with your index and middle fingers using both hands. Extend your middle and index fingers on both hands, keeping them close together, while your thumbs hold down your ring and pinky fingers. Place your two middle fingers together, forming an "A" shape. Ifeel like I get a louder and more forceful whistle using this finger combo. Fig 2: Draw back your lips to cover your teeth. Lip placement is key, Give your lips a quick lick to wet your whistle. Tuck your lips back over your teeth. It's what you do when you pretend youre an old man without any teeth. Your lips need to cover your teeth in order to whistle successfully Feel free to adjust howmuch or lite you tuck your lips back. It's going to vary from person to person. Your fingers will help keep your bottom lip tudked over your teeth. Fig 3: Push tongue back into mouth. Place the tip of your fingers underneath your tongue right at the tip. Push the tip of your tongue back with your fingers. You're basically folding the first 1/4 of your tongue back on itself. Push your tongue back into your mouth until your first knuckle reaches your bottom lips. Fig 4: Blow through the hole between your two index fingers. Give a soft blow out your mouth. You should feel the air only go out over your bottom lip. If you feel air coming out the sides of your mouth, dlose your mouth tighter around your fingers. Remember, perfect seal Make sure you don't see your tongue make an appearance in the hole between your fingers! I's blocking the air from coming out. You probably won't get a sound right off the bat. That's okay. Adjust your finger placement under your tongue and experiment with different finger angles and varying degrees of lip tuckage until you find the sweet spot. Experimentation is key-keep making little adjustments. You'll know when you're getting close to your whistle sweet spot because you'll start producing a noise that sounds sort of like you're blowing over a beer bottle. Start blowing more forcefully, until you get that high-pitched and loud whistle. you should probably ge to TheMetaPicture.com LLLTSA lolzandtrollz: See? Now You Know How To Whistle With Your Fingers

When the post Incan city states developed a treatment for malaria, the Spanish deliberately targeted the cities producing the quinine treatment and made it illegal to sell it to non-christians. The Spanish took all the sick and forced them at sword-point to go back to their homes instead of to the sick houses or the temples throughout the new world, and forced anyone who wasn’t sick to work in the mines or the coin factories melting and pressing their cultural treasures down into Spanish coins. The English were just as bad, they started the smallpox blankets. A lot of the loss was not deliberate infections like this but it was preventable at a million different crossroads and every European culture took the opportunity to weaponize the plagues when they could. Alexander the great used biological warfare after all, so it’s not like you can pretend the concept was alien to them, they wrote about it. They were sure they’d killed more than ten million in “New Spain” alone. They crucified people they smashed babies on the rocks, they set fire to buildings they forced women and children into and cooked their meals over the burning corpses, they loosed war dogs on people. They sold children into sex slavery to be raped by disease riddled pedos back in Europe and if taking their virginity didn’t cure the sick creeps the native children would be killed or sometimes sent back. The English were just as bad, shooting children in front of their mothers and forcing them to mop their blood with their hair. Turning human scalps into currency. Feeding babies to dogs in front of their mothers and fathers. Killing whole villages and erasing them from their maps so that historians would think God had made it empty just for the English. And even if you wanna live in some dreamy fairytale where God just made a whoopsie and then there were no natives left, nobody forced them to erase our history. The Spanish burned every document they found to erase the literacy and literary tradition of the Central and South Americans. There are essentially three Aztec documents left and some excavated pottery, and some archeological inscriptions and that’s it. The single most advanced culture in math and anatomical medicine erased probably forever. Same to the Inca, the most advanced fiber and alloy engineers and economists gone forever. Nobody made them do that. Nobody forced the American colonizers to steal political technology and act like they invented democracy or sovereignty. Nobody forced them to build their cities on top of native ones and erase them from history forever. Baltimore was built on Chesapeake, which translates roughly to “city at the top of the great water” in most Algonquin tongues. My favorite example is Cumberland in Western MD, they didn’t even reshape the roads or anything, they paved the steps and walking paths natives had used for hundreds of years and now it’s almost impossible to drive cuz the streets are too narrow or steep. The culture that built them didn’t have horses. Phoenix AZ, called Phoenix cuz the settlers literally found an old city and “brought it back to life.” Did they save any history or cultural artifacts? People hear “Lettuce being modified with scorpion DNA” and think that we’re now eating scorpions.  But, in reality, they’re taking a tiny bit of scorpion DNA and splicing it into the plant.  Why?  So the plant will produce poison that is not harmful to humans but will deter insects, reducing the use of pesticide, which CAN be harmful to humans and the environment. GMOs are producing rice that can survive flooding, which makes rice more reliable yields and will prevent food shortages in poor nations that rely on said crops for staple food. GMOs are also creating spider-goat hybrids.  Why? So we can splice web production into the goat’s udders.  We’ll be able to spin huge quantities of spider silk, enough to reliably create spider silk cables and ropes, which have more tensile strength than steel. I for one am glad I live in a time where watermelons aren’t giant tomato abominations The issue with GMOs is that corporations like Monsanto are patenting GMOs and arresting indigenous farmers for cross pollinating with they seeds. But there is nothing dangerous about the science. ^This. The problem isn’t the science, it’s what capitalism does with that science. this should be in the largest letters we’ve got, plastered everywhere until it gets through people’s heads: The problem isn’t the science, it’s what capitalism does with that science. What you might not know is just how "friendly" a human can be. Many galactic citizens have discovered, only too late, the relentless drive of the human... who will gladly mate with YOU. A human is a stalking predator, and may wait weeks, even months, for an opportunity .11 would not be attractive to a human and have nothing to fear." Humans have highly variable preferences and strategies. However, do recall that by the time humans experienced First Contact, they had already spent centuries producing entire libraries of speculative research about how they would someday attempt to mate with someone just like you. "I possess a simple cloaca and am incompatible with a human and their sexual practices." Humans are adaptable. There are proven instances of humans attempting mating behaviors on features far more novel than a mere cloaca or book lung. Humans have been known to engage in attempted intercourse with flaps, orificies, depressions, ridges, digits, chelicerae, and masses of all kinds. A human, bereft of a partner, may attempt to mate with a range of vessels, extensions, surfaces--or its own hands. "I have heard mating with a human can be pleasurable. What's the harm?" Humans form strong attachments and are insatiable. Galactic citizens who have partnered with a human have routinely died of dessication, puncture, and lethal chafing! ouyangdan: kaelio: kaelio: Someone requested a doodle of “some of the Dominion’s anti-human propaganda” but tbh this is too real outside of star trek. this is probably plastered over the entire Citadel in Mass Effect i still get notifications for this. i get notifications for this every god damned day. I figure someone mightve posted this before, but its still appropriate for Christmas.: emilysidhe Baby It's Cold Outside discourse is the same as Macbeth discourse dont-spoop-yourself Explain? emilysidhe OK, so one of the big debates in Macbeth involves the scene in which Lady Macbeth talks Macbeth into killing King Duncan. People debate strenuously over whether it's a scene of Lady M pressuring her reluctant husband into it, or whether it's a scene of her sensing, due to their emotional intimacy, that this murder is something her husband secretly wants and has partially internally decided to do, and is arguing him into it in order to help him give himself permission to do it, in the same way that people see their loved ones wavering over the dessert menu and jump in with things like, "Go on, get the cheesecake, it's your birthday!" Readers and scholars disagree strenuously about this - we even studied an incident in college in which two 18th century illustrators attended the same performance and happened to draw the scene the day after, producing two images that advanced opposite interpretations even though they'd seen the exact same actors do the exact same performance. It's a big deal In the same way, the Baby, It's Cold Outside discourse is about whether this is a song about sexual harassment, or whether it's a woman singing about how she wishes she could spend the night with the guy she just had an excellent date with if only the neighbors wouldn't talk, and him responding, "Stay, baby, it's cold out! No one could expect you to go home in this!" ms-demeanor I really don't know (baby stab his side) King Duncan's a bro (baby cut through his hide) I like him a lot (That decrepit old sot?) This plan ain't so great (But what a king you'd make!) The guards might worry (Darling, do it in a hurry!) His sons will rush the door (So knock them on the floor.) I'm not such a knave (Bash his head with a stave) But l'd be a good king (Now you're starting to think) The dukes might all talk (But their chatter means naught) Say, love, what do you mean (You'd make such a king) I simply must go (baby cut through his hide) There's a war on you know (baby cut through his hide) But what of his wife? (And what of his life?) It feels like bad luck (But that don't mean much) l've got a bad premonition (And l've got a mission) But that's just superstition (My love, you're a vision) The witches said l'd rule (If they lied they were cruel) So babv let's stab Stab his siiiide! Tuck your lips back over your teeth. It's what you do when you pretend you're an old man without any teeth. Your lips need to cover your teeth in order to whistle successfully Feel free to adjust how much or little you tuck your lips back. It's going to vary from person to person. Your fingers will help keep your bottom lip tucked over your teeth. Fig 3: Push tongue back into mouth. Place the tip of your fingers undemeath your tongue right at the tip. Push the tip of your tongue back with your fingers. You're basically folding the first 1/4 of your tongue back on itself. Push your tongue back into your mouth until your first knuckle reaches your bottom lips. ーレーじ Fig 4: Blow through the hole between your two index fingers. Give a soft blow out your mouth. You should feel the air only go out over your bottom lip. If you feel air coming out the sides of your mouth, close your mouth tighter around your fingers. Remember, perfect seal. Make sure you don't see your tongue make an appearance in the hole between your fingers! It's blocking the air from coming out. You probably won't get a sound right off the bat. That's okay. Adjust your finger placement under your tongue and experiment with different finger angles and varying degrees of lip tuckage until you find the sweet spot. Experimentation is key-keep making little adjustments. You'll know when you're getting dose to your whistle sweet spot because you'll start producing a noise that sounds sort of like you're blowing over a beer bottle.Start blowing more forcefully, until you get that high-pitched and loud whistle. srsfunny:If You’ve Ever Wanted To Learn This
