The Tolkien discourse is getting violent: hobbit-hole if i had to get in a fistfight with any member of the fellowship it would be Frodo because i would easily win hobbit-hole all i am saying is that he would ostensibly be the easiest one to take on in a fight given that he's like three feet tall and has led a life of (physical) leisure compared to all of the others due to his standing as a gentlehobbit legolas, aragorn, and gimli are all used to combat, sam works as a gardener merry and pippin often gallivant off and get into mischief so they have the advantage of experience in whatever it is they've gotten up to/would possibly fight dirty, gandalf is gandalf so while weapons are out of the question i suppose that depends on if magic is involved. i don't think i could take him without magic even if he is old because he's a very large guy, but maybe it would be my knuckles against Frodo's baby soft poet hands, plus rve got the additional height and fighting experience. i just think that he would be the easiest to win against in hand-to-hand combat out of the rest of them. also he isn't real so he can't offer a rebuttal to my claim penny-anna you're absolutely correct BUT wanting to fight Frodo makes you a monster D hobbit-hole this has nothing to do with WANTING to fight Frodo, i just think he would be easiest for me to beat in a fight with no weapons. unless he utilized his very large feet, but i think he's too polite to do that because it's a fist fight and that would be considered playing dirty penny anna for someone who doesn't want to fight Frodo you sure have put a lot of thought into fighting Frodo. animate-mush OP is wrong though: you fight Pippin. First off, Pippin has it coming, so you won't be fighting your conscience at the same time Secondly, Pippin is a spoiled rich kid. He's no less gentry than Frodo is, but Frodo works out and is shown to have better stamina, at least at the outset. Pippin is also both the stupidest and the slowest of the hobbits. They both nearly beat one (1) troll, so that's comparable, but Pippin appears not to have got a single hit in against the orcs that captured them while Merry was cutting off hands like a boss. Pippin also straight-up tell Bergil that he's not a fighter Also there's a nonzero chance that Frodo will just straight up curse you (if the guilt of fighting Frodo isn't enough if a curse by itself) And, of course, if you try to fight Frodo, you will 100% end up fighting Sam, and he will wreck you (and you'll deserve it, you penny-anna Also: if you fight Frodo you'll have a very angry Sam & possibly also the entire Fellowship to deal with BUT if you fight Pippin they will probably cheer you on ainurs Bold of you to assume one could attempt to fight Pippin and NOT instantly be killed by Boromir feynites So here's the thing - you absolutely DO NOT want to try and fight Frodo or Pippin because they are going to be protected by the rest of the Fellowship which basically exists to stop asshole Big People from picking on the hobbits. Folk might talk a big game but when the chips are down, you are not going to lay a single hand on any of the hobbits. Either you'll find yourself immediately fighting all four of them or else you'll move to land your first hit and suddenly Aragorn will side-tackle you into the trees. And he probably hits like a freight train tbh. So here's what you do You fight Legolas. The thing about fist-fighting Legolas of course is that you will lose. This is not a fight you're gonna win no matter what. But Legolas has his standing competition with Gimili, so once the challenge is issued, he's not gonna let anyone else step in and fight you either. No one is liable to volunteer on his behalf, either, so you will only end up fighting the one member of the fellowship. If you are lucky he might also take his shirt off. Bonus! Anyway Legolas will mop the floor with you, but he's also already convinced you're weaker than him anyway because you're not an elf, so he's gonna go kind of easy on you And when you lose he will be all snide and superior about it, which means everyone in the fellowship is gonna sympathize with you, and Gimli will probably challenge him on your behalf afterwards, but here's the key thing You will have lost a fist-fight to an immortal warrior prince That's a way better loss to cop to than that time you tried to fistfight a pudgy gentlehobbit and got beaten to the point of unconsciousness by his gardener yeah? icescrabblerjerky okay so tolkien tumblr is fast becoming my fave tumblr community thank you thank you all you are the true fellowship here. Seriously use your fucking brain for 2.5 seconds I am begging you. I would like to argue this. There are the specific ages that the two were, the recount of there being a third party and recounting excatly what the accused said. I mean that’s pretty solid evidence if you ask me. They even told us the man’s college! That’s SOILD evidence. Change my mind. @libertarirynn @the-fallen-storyteller raped me. I was 19 and they were 24. I bet if you ask them for the full details, they can recall the ENTIRE experience. Are you fucking serious right now? Like are you actually, fucking serious right now? Do you believe literally everything you read on the Internet? Do you believe that hot Russian singles are in your area? Do you believe that “doctors hate him”? Posted this earlier and was bombarded with "what about emergency vehicles what if I'm going to the hospital" etc etc. First of all, understand that these protestors are human, they are not trying to kill anyone, and they will let emergency vehicles pass by. You're not going to protest against an injust system and then choose not to let an ambulance through. There is only ONE instance of this happening after countless protests across the US. Next rebuttal "these people should get jobs; not everyone can just protest all day" these people do have jobs (thanks to our capitalist system you must have a job-jobs to survive bc things like healthcare aren't provided universally 🙃🙃) but are using their little free time to fight for equality and fight against a system that actively oppresses them. If you can spend your free time doing activities like watching TV, shopping, cooking, etc then congratulations but some people are tired of being victims of an oppressive system and want to fight back. "You're keeping people from getting to their jobs" if this is your response please reread the post because clearly you missed the point. TLDR: If you see a group of oppressed people protesting and your first thought is that they're wrong, maybe stop and consider that that have a reason to protest! Think about other people and imagine being ignored and silenced your entire life to the point where the ONLY way you can be heard is by shutting a highway down. 😞 Y'all if you follow me then I know you understand sexism so please apply these same concepts to racism and classism. It's super disappointing to see a bunch of privileged-ignorant-selfish responses when I post about things deeper than "puppies not patriarchy." stop! Think! Try to understand and empathize! Don't automatically get defensive!!!!: Protesters don't block traffic to gain your support. They do it so you can see what if feels like to be stuck in a powerless situation How do you respond to this situation? Are you calm and peaceful? Do you want to spend years organizing political talks about it? Nope, you want to run those protesters over, kill them, kill them all. If you want to kill protesters who have you stuck in traffic, imagine what you would want to do to a system that patrols, harasses and kills you. The sooner you learn perspective the sooner you won't have to be stuck in traffic. Posted this earlier and was bombarded with "what about emergency vehicles what if I'm going to the hospital" etc etc. First of all, understand that these protestors are human, they are not trying to kill anyone, and they will let emergency vehicles pass by. While this may have SOME truth to it, in that a declining occupation might not entirely disappear, it fails to acknowledge that such a decline in demand is precisely what necessitates the low wage in the first place. Understand, advocates of freer markets generally don’t assert that hard working individuals “deserve to live in poverty.” What we contend is that people earning low wages are typically offering labor that is either “low in demand” or “'high in supply.” The valuation characteristics of this labor, then, mirror that of a product few people wish to buy or too many people wish to sell.

It just so happens that pizza-making, shelf-stocking, and cab-driving jobs are declining in demand.

■ PIZZA-MAKERS:
Pizza has gotten cheaper to produce. Per Franchise Direct, citing a pizza franchise industry report from 2010, “The development and implementation of new technology and marketing strategies has enabled the pizza industry to adapt to growing consumer demands for cheap, fast, and convenient products.” [1] Part of this increased productivity means fewer “pizza makers” are required, as the art of pizza making has increasingly become commercialized into an efficient process which utilizes less labor. The major chains are known for utilizing “assembly line” techniques, relying more on pre-made or partially prepared products, shipped to individual shops, and thus requiring less labor to render a finished product. According to Pizza Marketing Quarterly, who issues an Annual Industry Analysis, in 2003, independently owned pizza shops represented 50.7% of sales for the pizza industry, while major corporate chains made up the remainder. [2] Ten years later, however, that number had fallen to 40.33% of sales, with major chains increasing their share to nearly 60%. Like at least try. If you are insinuating that I have to try hard to debunk a claim that a Jewish man is going to be the next hitler than you are the most cretinous cretin Ive come across on this website and Ive come across a lot. The philosophical roots of democratic socialism is based on far more noble principles than hitlers national socialism which is different. If conservatives are so stupid they associate anything that has the word socialism with Hitler than maybe you should back Bernie since he wants free public colleges and y’all clearly need more education. The irony in this whole debacle is that Donald Trump on your side is actually more ideologically aligned with Hitler since it is not Bernie but Trump , who like Hitler, is blaming all of our economic and societal ills on latinos, immigrants, and muslims- using the same tactics as Hitler who also blamed certain minorities for Germany’s downfall and who like Trump wanted to make his country “great again”. Furthermore, you clearly don’t know anything about history or political science since Hitler’s party is considered a far right party. Sanders, and i hate how i have to spell this out for you, is not far right. Lastly, I will conclude with a gif. : THAT AWKWARD MOMENT WHEN.. 1, BERNIE SANDERS ADMITS HE IS A DEMOCRATIC SoCIALIST. 2. BUT PLEASE be sure that in the midst of using the term, it’s used properly. There is a difference between appropriation and appreciation. The director Ben Mor ( an INDIAN MAN) discussed that his goal in choosing a direction for the video was to make sure a love and appreciation of Indian culture came through loud and clear. 2. Misdirected anger makes me giggle. People mad at Beyonce as though she designed and directed the video. This is Coldplay’s song and video. They gave the green light in the directors vision… You’ve nothing to say about that. The videos (Indian) director as well as the designers involved created the Vision and concept…. You’ve nothing to say about that…. It’s like some of y'all were just waiting for your chance to tell black people they’re guilty of appropriation too. Its Funny how each time we’re vocal about a social justice cause we constantly get hit with a rebuttal consistently trying to point out a fault of ours, while excusing other parties involved. And if I’m wrong…. Why is the discussion in a song beyonce is only featured on, centered around her versus the director/Coldplay….. I welcome outrage, but misdirected bandwagon outrage is a waste of everyone’s time….. Yeah … I think the cultural appropriation discussion on tumblr is way too simplistic. Many people within certain cultures actually consider it an honor for outsiders to wear their clothes, dance like them, etc. my family in Colombia gave my white friends ponchos and told them to wear it in America “to remember us” yet some white girl was horrified at how appropriative it was … Like what do we do in that situation? My mother almost married an Iranian/Turkish guy and people in his circle gave her traditional clothing and even DVDs on how to belly dance (I wish I were making this up lol). My best friend when I was little was Pakistani and the mom would dress me up in their traditional clothing and I would even eat with my hands with them and my dad and grandmother were given tons of jewelry and traditional clothing and were pushed to wear it lmaoo . I’m not even defending Beyoncé all I’m saying is that the discussion of cultural appropriation is extremely simplistic. In your noble attempts to be anti-imperialist I think some of you lose yourself in your theoretical mental acrobatics , disregarding other points of view that are shared by many people in said groups you’re supposedly defending. It’s called theory induced blindness and all I ask is to simply be slightly more open minded in different perspectives. Once again I’m not even defending Beyoncé , this is more about the discussion of CA in general on this one sided ass website. My only critique of the above statements is that you strip Beyoncé of any agency when you blame Coldplay and the director like she’s worth almost half a billion dollars and if she knew something was wrong she could have said something it’s BS to make her the victim IMO she’s a powerful woman legit one of the most influential and powerful singers in history. BUT the director who is of said culture I think personally has a right to promote his culture even if it’s someone who isn’t of that culture. This notion of you must only adhere strictly and purely to your own culture no exceptions is unrealistic and I think misguided in understanding how cultures work and function historically but Idk maybe it’s Cus I studied culture in a more scientific sense so I struggle to really take this CA talk a la tumblr seriously and I’m sorry if this comes off as problematic but I’m trying my best to be open minded and I’m listening. I just think there needs to be more nuance and allowance of gray area on this website. Oh what’s that? You and your family have been here for generations and it would be an enormous hassle to go back to a country that is no longer your own and besides people immigrating to other countries and settling there is not at all uncommon and the population of Native Americans was severely dwindling due to disease long before the Europeans settled in the New World so blaming them for single handedly wiping out the Indians is ridiculous and giving them way too much credit for something that was pretty much going to happen anyway? And calling those settlers “illegal” when there were no formalized immigration laws at the time is also kinda dumb?

Yeah, that’s what I thought.

To be honest though I think you miss the point. There are people like me who support illegals because all they want is a better life. I don’t believe I’m punishing someone for being poor, you say “so when is everyone who agrees with this going back” that’s just it we aren’t, because we aren’t telling people they don’t deserve to be here simply because they don’t have the funds to start a life here. He however is. Regardless of the fact there were no immigration laws in those times Europeans were still technically illegal immigrants when they got here. They weren’t given citizenship, they forced their own civilization and built a citizenship. and I don’t care if, “that’s how things were done back then” that’s not the point. It doesn’t change what I’ve said. Anyone who invaded a country was an illegal immigrant and quite frankly everyone hails from illegal immigrants by that standard, which I agree. I would like to know however why you brought up, “Native Americans were dying of disease anyway” why does that matter and why is it relevant to the point you are trying to make? One country notifies their neighbors of something someone else has done. So that isn’t a problem if that can be accomplished. That is the only problem I see with open boarders and there is a simple solution. Not saying the governments can work together for five minutes to make that happen, politicians are phenomenal idiots and are very selfish. But under the assumption countries could cooperate with each other, why do you feel someone should have to pay simply to enter the country. I’m not saying give them free housing and free jobs.

I like you proudblackconservative you are an intelligent great blogger and I find a lot of hour arguments spot on. fatassvegan: nomorepuzzleprofits: Hello, AndrewGarfieldDaily. As an autistic person, I feel the need to help inform the public, especially on this important Autistic Pride Day. Please, please DO NOT SUPPORT AUTISM SPEAKS. Autism Speaks hates autistic people. Autistic people have been treated horribly by this corporation. They have done many, many really shady things that should be brought to public attention, yet they are often seen as the “face” of autism because they are so large. This is a LIE. Autistic people DO NOT want to be represented by Autism Speaks. We do not support Autism Speaks. We do not want Autism Speaks to continually pretend to “help” us while raking in massive corporate profits, that we, disabled people, will never see. So What’s SO Bad About Autism Speaks? Autism Speaks does not have a single autistic member on their board. Autism Speaks only spends 3% of their budget on “family services”. Much of Autism Speaks’ money goes toward research, and much of that research centers on finding a way to eliminate autism, and thus, autistics (which will likely be done through a prenatal test, in the same way that the Down’s Syndrome test is conducted). Autism Speaks produces advertisements, small films, etc. about what a burden autistic people are to society. Autism Speaks was responsible for “Autism Every Day”, which featured a member of their board talking about contemplating murder-suicide of her daughter in front of her daughter. This has now be removed from Autism Speaks’ Youtube channel. Autism Speaks is responsible for the atrocity known as “I am Autism”, a short film produced by the Academy Award Winning Alfonso Cuaron, who also directed the 3rd Harry Potter movie (yes, really) and features an ominous voice saying things like “I am autism…I know where you live…I work faster than pediatric AIDS, cancer, and diabetes combined…I will make sure your marriage fails.” This woman’s job offer was rescinded after she asked Autism Speaks for accommodations in caring for her autistic son. They refused, and she made necessary accommodations for childcare, but they withdrew her offer anyways. Autism Speaks shared the news of Google removing hate speech regarding autistics from Google’s autofill feature, completely erasing any mention of autistic people’s flashblogs having anything to do with the change. It was only after a member of the autism community (and not a parent, but an autistic person themselves) spoke with a reporter about the flashblog and a statement was released to the media that Google decided to make this change. Autism Speaks highlighted AAC use, while erasing those those who actually use AAC devices to communicate. The focus was on the caretakers, not on the autistic people themselves. (The attached link has a link to a rebuttal by a nonspeaking autistic person, Amy Sequenzia). Autism Speaks has violated copyright and has profited off an autistic advocate’s writing for three years.
