Drake, Future, and Memes: Drake and Future Dismissed From $25 Million Rape Lawsuit @balleralert Drake and Future Dismissed From $25 Million Rape Lawsuit - blogged by @MsJennyb ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Drake and Future have dodged a major bullet in the $25 million rape lawsuit linked to the duo's 2016 Summer Sixteen tour stop in Tennessee. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Back in August of 2017, one year after the incident, a woman filed a lawsuit against the duo and the arena for hiring her rapist, Leavy Johnson. In the suit, the woman said all parties should have known that Johnson’s employment had the potential to “pose an unreasonable risk to others,” as he had outstanding warrants for assault at the time of the attack. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But now, almost two years after the incident, Johnson has been arrested and charged with rape and the rap duo has been let off the hook in the lawsuit. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ According to the @blast, both Drake and Future, whose real names are Aubrey Drake Graham and Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn, respectively, were dismissed from the suit without prejudice. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ However, despite the rappers’ dismissal, the arena, the touring companies and the company that provided the security, in which Johnson reportedly worked, still remain in the suit, as the case is still ongoing.

Community, Lenny, and Lenny Kravitz: #BAGreekLove. Happy Founder's Day Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. @balleralert BAGreekLove: Happy Founder’s Day Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There's nothing like attending an HBCU to learn more about your culture. It wasn’t until the 1830’s that African Americans were even able to receive higher education. That was just the beginning. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ At an HBCU there are many opportunities for students to learn the true meaning of brotherhood and sisterhood. From the marching bands and the dancers, and of course to the nine historically Black Greek Letter Organizations(BGLOs) also referred to as the “divine nine.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ To continue to show our love and appreciation for HBCUs, we would like to highlight the “divine nine” at different HBCUs to showcase community involvement as well as the creative steps and strolls. If you would like to show what your organization is doing at your HBCU, please DM @peachkyss or email at peachkyss@balleralert.com ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The sorority was founded on January 15, 1908, at the historically black Howard University in Washington, D.C., by a group of sixteen students led by Ethel Hedgeman Lyle. Forming a sorority broke barriers for African-American women in areas where they had little power or authority, due to a lack of opportunities for minorities and women in the early 20th century. Alpha Kappa Alpha was incorporated on January 29, 1913. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Some well known Alpha Kappa Alpha’s feature PhyliciaRashad, LorettaDevine, RoxieRoker (mother of Lenny Kravitz), MonyettaShaw, ShamariDeVoe (R&B Group Blaque), and StarJones. Honorary members include AliciaKeys, MayaAngelou, GladysKnight, CorrettaScottKing, and more. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Happy Founder’s Day!

Community, Drugs, and Fake: Sixteen Postal Workers Charged After Accepting Bribes To Deliver Drugs @balleralert UNITEDSTATES Sixteen Postal Workers Charged After Accepting Bribes To Deliver Drugs- blogged by @peachkyss ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Sixteen postal workers in Atlanta and surrounding areas are being charged for taking bribes to deliver packages of cocaine. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ According to U.S. Attorney John Horn, the postal workers provided special addresses on their routes where the drugs could be shipped and then intercepted the packages and delivered them to a person they believed was a drug trafficker using the postal system to ship multiple kilograms of cocaine at a time into the area in exchange for bribery payments. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The supposed drug trafficker was working with law enforcement and the packages contained fake drugs. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The postal workers charged include 15 letter carriers and one clerk who worked for post offices in Atlanta, Decatur, Doraville, Marietta, Riverdale and Sandy Springs. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "There's been an increased number of occurrences across the country where postal service carriers have been subjected to violence," Horn said. "What you can imagine is that the intersection of drug activity with having a postal carrier out in the community is something that leads to just a potential for violence that's really unacceptable."
