mad-hare: n7c: fandom-will-be-my-fall: !!! WARNING, EVERYONE !!! IF YOU SEE THIS IN A YOUTUBE AD MUTE YOUR DEVICE AND SCROLL UNTIL YOU CAN’T SEE THE VIDEO SCREEN ANYMORE. This is an ad about animal cruelty that has very loud screaming of dying animals. Also flashing, graphic pictures of said animals, like a dead chicken or a pig biting a wired fence. It’s about thirty seconds, the screaming starts 10 seconds in and the ad isn’t skippable. It can trigger panic attacks and cause your anxiety to skyrocket, and it’s just generally a very disturbing thing no one should see. I’ve only seen a warning yet, haven’t stumbled across this before despite using YT a lot but for the love of God please be careful. Here is a link to that video but ONLY WATCH IT IF YOU KNOW YOU’RE NOT SENSITIVE TO THIS TYPE OF CONTENT. I’m merely giving out the link so you can report it and I wouldn’t advise any of you actually watch it. I don’t know if anyone has already made a post about this before, but I just stumbled upon this app made specifically for when you’ve gone into a nonverbal anxiety attack!!! it was made by Jeroen De Busser who is an autistic computer science student. the app is really easy to use! all you do is open it and hand your phone to someone you need to communicate with during an attack but physically cannot, and it shows this cool little alert for the person to read, and then it takes them to an easy to use chat (that looks a lot like texting! except both of you are communicating using the same device).  the alert message is completely customizable and you can have it say whatever you need!  the app is called Emergency Chat and it’s available in the Apple Store and google play store.  I highly recommend it to anyone who might need it :) OH MY GOD?!?!?? historical-nonfiction: This little island, perched on coral, has a higher population density than Manhattan. In fact, it’s density is four times that of Manhattan! It is only 2.4 acres in size, yet, it’s home to 1,200 people. Santa Cruz del Islote is a small island in an archipelago off the coast of Colombia. With no water, and electricity just 5 hours a day, why does anyone live here?Legend has it that about 150 years ago, a group of fishermen from the coastal town of Baru, about 50 km away, were looking for new waters to fish when they stumbled upon this small coral island, sitting low in the waters. As it was too late to return, the fishermen decided to set up camp on the island for the night and were pleasantly surprised to discover that the island had no mosquitoes, a rarity in the area. The story goes that the men slept so peacefully that night that they decided to stay. I believe this myth I hate mosquitoes that much too: historical-nonfiction: This little island, perched on coral, has a higher population density than Manhattan.
