Energy, Love, and Relationships: is feeling random. 23 hrs Humor time I usually post a description of what I made but since everyone knows this is a salad, i'll just replace this with an ecological rant on suboptimal pairing and dietary choice. If your socio-copulative mate's diet is not composed mainly of primary bear with me leave him. You are dealing with an organism who belongs consumerS to the order of Carnivorae Mephitidae, from the lowest depths of the Mammalia Class whose trophic level consumption ratio is sub optimal (1%-0.1 % of energy at best). As an apex predator, you should know better. This ecological statement also applies to emotional treatment and asymmetrical power balances within relationships, which are toxic at best, if inequalities aren't addressed and if parasitism instead of mutualism endures. Dumb, Gimp, and Party: Optimizing and min-maxing is perfectly fine. The game is more fun when your character is good at what they do, and you shouldn't expect people to gimp themselves just to *not* be as powerful as they could be for some dumb idealistic reason. Sure, suboptimal choices like making a Wizard with 8 Int or a Small character with a Greatsword might make for some interesting flavor, but they should have some plan in mind for covering their flaws to not just be a liability to the party. Having a strong and optimal character doesn't mean his personality and roleplay can't be interesting; you don't have to force it artificially by making a wonky and nonsensical build. Optimizers ruin the game for everyone else. They're too good at what they do; how is any non-minmaxed build supposed to not be outshined by them? Newer players don't know how to minmax, it's unfair to have them play with minmaxers and always feel weak in comparison. Not to mention, it's hard to build challenging encoun- ters for super-strong characters! They have too many options and can blow through anything CR-appropriate, and if I throw harder monsters at them, then the rest of the party will die or not have fun just so the minmaxer can have a challenge for once. People should consider everyone else before making their character so strong. Having lots of options and being powerful is generally much more fun than constantly being unable to do anything because your character sucks or falling into the same loop of "I move, I attack" because your character has nothing else to contribute. Especially in a barebones and limited system with few choices and customization options during character creation and few interesting options during gameplay like 5e, being able to fine-tune your abilities and customize the perfect character you want while still being effective and powerful is an important part of the game and one that many people find just as fun as the sessions themselves. Rather than force experienced players to nerf themselves to give the newbies a chance, you should encourage the experienced players to help the newbies build equally powerful characters, so everyone can have fun and be powerful and nobody gets gimped and you can throw harder and higher-CR monsters at the party without worrying about killing the weak characters. Also, challenge can go beyond raw numbers puzzles, intelligent enemies, and environmental dangers than a random encounter on an open field with a pack of nameless bandit thugs that the minmaxer blows through because they're basic mooks. Playing the game effectively shouldn't be frowned upon. are much more interesting MARVEL Dungeons and Dragons MAY 6, 2016 Civil War, Part 2: Optimization

Fire, Life, and Ensure: The problem we are trying to solve is twofold. First, that there are significant risks to first responders immediately entering a collapsed building due to many unknowns, like the potential for secondary collapse, weak floors, gas leaks, poor air quality, fire, etc. Second, that all the current solutions to the first problem are suboptimal either due to cost, the time it takes to deploy, or to the danger/threat to human life. International Breastfeeding Journal https://doi.org/10.1186/s13006-019-0198-9 (2019) 14:4 International Breastfeeding Journal RESEARCH Open Access Diarrhoea deaths and disability-adjusted life years attributable to suboptimal breastfeeding practices in Nigeria: findings from the global burden of disease study 2016 CrossMark Felix Akpojene Ogbo12D, Anselm Okoro3, Bolajoko Q. Olusanya4t, Jacob Olusanya, Ifegwu K. Ifegwu?, Akorede O. Awosemo, Pascal Ogeleka and Andrew Page Abstract Background: In Nigeria, diarrhoea contributes significantly to childhood morbidity and mortality, with suboptimal breastfeeding practices playing a key role. The present study aimed to report on diarrhoea deaths and disability-adjusted life years (DALYS) among children aged under five years attributable to suboptimal breastfeeding practices in Nigeria Methods: This study used data from the Global Burden of Disease study 2016, which estimated mortality from diarrhoea in the Cause of Death Ensemble model. Suboptimal breastfeeding was assessed as a combination of non-exclusive breastfeeding and discontinued breastfeeding. The comparative risk assessment approach was used to estimate the attributable burden of diarrhoea deaths and DALYS due to suboptimal breastfeeding practices in the spatial-temporal Gaussian Process Regression tool. Results: In 2016, suboptimal breastfeeding practices accounted for an estimated 56.5% (95% uncertainty intervals [UI]: 47.5, 68.3) of diarrhoea deaths in the late neonatal period, 39.0 % ( 31.0, 463) in post-neonatal period, 39.0 % ( 31.3, 46.20) in infancy period and 22.8% (16.9, 29.9) in children aged under five years in Nigeria. In the same year, 22,371 (14,259, 32,746) total diarrhoea deaths in children under five years could be attributed to suboptimal breastfeeding practices. DALYS from diarrhoea attributable to suboptimal breastfeeding practices was 1.9 million (12, 2.8 million) among children under five years in 2016. Between 1990 and 2016, the proportion of children who died from diarrhoea due to suboptimal breastfeeding did not change substantially across all age groups in Nigeria. Conclusions: Suboptimal breastfeeding practices remain a significant contributor to diarrhoea mortality and disability among children under five years in Nigeria. The study builds on previously published works on breastfeeding practices in Nigeria and provides evidence to support calls for the scale-up of efforts to improve infant feeding outcomes and reduce diarrhoea burden in Nigeria.
