Apparently, Butt, and Community: 23 people found this review helpful 47 people found this review funny RPS Beatest Not Recommended 0.0 hrs last two weeks / 9.2 hrs on record SUPRALAND Posted: 14 Apr5:48pm Updated: 15 Apr@10:47am surprisingly sexist for a puzzle game where the characters fun. i find it especially odd since two of the three listed inspirations for the game are ones with female leads. are essentially stick figures, but still View Store Page View Community Hub Find More Like This edit 1; i really shouldn't be so surprised that guys are getting butt-hurt over my one little criticism. qames are often designed by men, for men. girls also play games. is it really that hard to accept that maybe a girl might play a game and wish her gender existed as more than the butt of a bunch of jokes? following list has been added in response to developer asking for an explanation of my initial review. 1. the main characters are stick figures. there was all, but by doing so the player is forced to be male. 2. the king is of course in charge, while the queen has to do what he says to fix things. and of course the main character had to be the prince, specifically. couldn't just be a warrior, or referred to as child instead of 'son' so that the player could imagine them as a princess if they wanted 3. the first and so far only female i've encountered giving me a quest asked me to make her garden pretty. yes some women are like that. there's nothing wrong with that it's the fact that this is the first and only female quest giver i've met so far in the game, and i'm almost halfway through. 4. in the 'romeo and juliet' situation, the male character voices his opinion but the female only says 'hey!. it wouldn't be hard to give her a little more substance, instead of making a joke about how him wanting to keep the relationship secret offended her. 5. the fangirl puzzle. there was no reason for the fans to all be female, but because they are, and due to the nature of the puzzle, females are painted as shallow and stupid. 6. the star achievement note about he must be gay is in poor taste. I'm tired of the few men who aren't lust-crazed being called gay, and i'm tired of seeing a sexuality being used as an insult absolutely no reason to give them genders at edit 2; after discussing my review with the developer, i' ve decided to change it from positive to negative. the conversation went from 'how is it sexist' to 'yeah it's sexist but how is that wrong and i don't know how to/shouldn't have to explain to an adult that sexism can be offensive. i intend to finish the game, cuz i already payed for it, (and who knows, maybe the one strong female character i apparently just haven't gotten to yet will make me change my review again) but i just don't feel right recommending a game made by such an unapologetically sexist developer. Funny Was this review helpful? Yes No Developer response [developer] Posted: 18 Apr@ 1:30am That's not at all how the conversation went. They're all just stick figures...

They're all just stick figures...

Family, God, and Head: 1h Thx it's my most deeply held dream. And I recently found out that I'll be able to breast feed!!! Painful and inconvenient pumping here I come! I literally couldn't be more excited. The thought of having my child on my breast giving them noureshment literally makes me cry. 26m Disgusting and unnatural. Your offspring will be forever defined as disgusting abominations, a result of confluence between discarded cultural norms and rampantly unethical scientific practices. Also since you're likely to die at 25 given the inhumane amounts of substance imbibation, responsibility falls upon others to live through your ill advised "choices" Your family were right, you are a disgusting burden and blight that brings nothing but shame and sadness to them all. 14m You are a freak of science and unethical medical practices, thank god you can't breed your own spawns, damaged enough already though I'm sure. If you have enough reasons to put a bullet in your head please don't inflict it upon a child. 5m 1 I hope to god CPS doesn't grant you custody of a child. Knowing some mentally sick child wearing a dress is somehow going to make for a healthy family makes me sick to my stomach. As do most people about you and your filthy mental abnormality. Just kys, you couldn't "transition" back into normal even if you tried. PS to call the retarded process you "suffer" to become yourself is some quantum tier leap of imagination in what both of those words mean. Do the world a favour and off yourself, before you go further and destroy a child's life through your insane fantasies of becoming a mother. Trans people attempt suicide 10 times more than the Gen. Pop because of trashy idiots like this. [OC]

Bad, Life, and Logic: prokopetz sj-flemings-writing rodentmancy i used to think that cyberpunk had a little more substance to it somewhere than steampunk but nope its literally just "this clothing looks cool and this music is neat, now let me fight the traditional bad guy" which in both cases is Bad Rich Man Who ls Bad Not Because He is Rich. Oh No Please Thats Very Separate, Hes Just Bad sometimes that person is a woman for Shock value Etranshumanist-viking neuropunk-travesty AS NEOLIBERALISM FURTHER INVADES OUR LIVES wITH THE LOGIC OF CAPITAL WE ARE FORCED TO EXIST AS INCREASI NGLY FALSE SELVES THAT MAKE US MORE USEFUL TO THE SYSTEM. THIS BRINGS US TO A CRISIS OF IDENTITY IN WHICH WE ARE INCAPABLE OF DISCERNING WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT FROM THE MACHINES OF PRODUCTION wow!! coO TECHNOLOGY! prokopetz To be fair, cyberpunk literature basically did this to itself. There was absolutely a time when cyberpunk was a vital part of the literary counterculture and had some important things to say, but that time was about a decade spanning from the late 1970s to the late 1980s. By 1990 or so, the genre had largely said everything it had to say, with nearly all of its prominent authors subsequently moving on to other pastures - either developing their work into early transhuman SF, or shifting gears to writing contemporary technothrillers as they recognised that cyberpunk's sci-fi elements were becoming increasingly unnecessary for the kinds of stories they wanted to tell. Most of what's been produced under the cyberpunk banner since then has basically been imitating the trappings of the genre's mid-to-late-1980s heyday, not only without concern for the politics that motivated those trappings, but often deliberately downplaying or removing them for the sake of marketability. That effort to justify the aesthetics without acknowledging the politics behind them is how we get from early cyberpunk's "we should be suspicious of the ethos of technology-as-self-improvement because it provides an avenue for that technology's corporate masters to do an end-run aroundi personal and bodily autonomy and literally own people piecemeal" to contemporary (i.e., aesthetic) cyberpunk's "prosthetics are bad because they damage your soul". sj-flemings-writing And I find that a really big damn shame, because I personally really love cyberpunk and I love the thematics of it, and I go so far as to call several of my projects explicitly cyberpunk And to me, thats why I think evolution in "punkish" subcultures is important. Cyberpunk of Gibson should not be Cyberpunk of Serena, over 30 years later, y'know? When you're rebelling against a culture, the focus of your rebellion should shift as the culture shifts. Which is also why I like the push l've been seeing by trans folk that I've seen as a result of this 2077 nonsense to explicitly centre cyberpunk around the issues of bodily autonomy and the idea of changing the self. Sure, that was always an ASPECT of cyberpunk, but it wasn't much often the explicit focus outside of when you had "oo cybernetics bad" or something Right now, there are major, and exceptionally important questions being asked and fought over when it comes do the autonomy of the person to do what they want with their body and life, be it abortion, transition, immigration. So a refocusing to look at that, and how the current structures of power benefit from and support those conflicts, is far more relevant discussion than a generic anti-capitalist one that I see a lot of people Hot Take about cyberpunk with. The problem with cyberpunk is that it answered, or attempted to answer, the questions it had when we were still going through the Bill Wurtz Jingle- Japanese Economic Miracle and the Cold War, but that's not what issues plague us now, and it's not what issues have come up in the era of late capitalism.
