Children, Detroit, and Donald Trump: Father Of Two Deported To Mexico After 30 Years In The States @balleralert Father Of Two Deported To Mexico After 30 Years In The States – blogged by @MsJennyb (pic via NIRAJ WARIKOO) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ On Monday, 39-year-old Jorge Garcia kissed his wife and kids goodbye, just before being deported from metro Detroit to Mexico. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ According to Detroit Free Press, 30 years after traveling to the United States with an undocumented family member at the age of 10, Garcia was sent back to his home country, leaving his wife and two children, who are all citizens of the U.S. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Garcia had been facing deportation since 2009, facing an order of removal from immigration courts. However, Obama’s administration allowed stays of removal, which kept Garcia in the states. But, with Donald Trump’s racist take on immigration, which has fueled his intense crackdown on illegal immigrants, Garcia’s time in the states was cut short. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Despite his good standing with the law, he has been ordered to Mexico. ICE agents escorted the 39-year-old through the airport and allowed him to say goodbye to his wife and children. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ According to the publication, prior to his deportation, he asked the agents if he could stay until the new DACA bill passed, as it may expand the age range for qualification (Garcia is too old to qualify), but the organization refused. He was ordered to leave by Jan. 15, Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The organization won $500,000 from the challenge and has since gained more than 1,700 new Bay Area students through their mentorship, boot camp program and workshops. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “This work builds on over $35 million in Google.org grants focused on providing opportunities for underrepresented students to become pioneers of technology, and we’re excited to see how The Hidden Genius Project uses this new grant,” Steele wrote. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Google is one of the several tech companies that struggle with diversity amongst their employees. Its last diversity report from June showed that there is only 1 percent of black tech workers with the company, and only 2 percent overall in the U.S. workforce.

Confidence, Journey, and Life: Self Love ls The Best Love @balleralert Your set Self Love Is The Best Love -blogged by @Its_Sharr ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The key to happiness in life is really simple: love yourself... because nothing is more empowering and fulfilling than being unconditionally in love with you. Surprisingly, such a simple action can sometimes be difficult to do especially in a society where being yourself and living your truth is often frowned upon. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Learning to fully love and believe in yourself can be quite the journey. Honestly, the road to self love never truly ends. The good news is that as you grow and take on new experiences everyday, you'll simultaneously learn and discover new things about yourself which will help you gain more self confidence and in turn, trust yourself. You'll open the door to be absolutely free and find yourself becoming utterly obsessed with you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ While it's normal to feel sad or depressed at times, try not to stay there. In fact, it can be healthy to go through these normal human emotions ad you shouldn't deprive yourself of these natural human feelings. Instead, you should embrace them, experience them and learn from them to help you become the best you. Just know that at the end of your sadness, you deserve love, praise and encouragement. You deserve happiness. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Take the time to appreciate yourself. Take a look at all you've accomplished, what you've survived and what you've been through. Believe that you're a strong and worthy person who deserves inner peace and appreciation. Experience, dream, seek knowledge and discover the beauty of yourself. Make mistakes and proudly learn from them. Embrace your flaws and imperfections and know that they're what make you, you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Love yourself because there's no one out there that's quite like you.

The Hall of Famer, who is known for his controversial hot takes, discussed the situation in an interview with NBA TV, saying Curry’s decision “set a bad precedent.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “I think it’s unfortunate,” Barkley said of the incident between Curry and Trump. “I think that it’s an honor and a privilege to go to the White House, no matter who the president is. It’s an honor and a privilege. Also I thought it would have been an opportunity for those guys to sit down and talk to the president about some of the issues and concerns they had." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “If I got a chance to sit with the president, I think we are all concerned about police brutality. I’m concerned about DACA. That would have been a chance – they could have negotiated a sit down, instead of just coming to do that formal stuff, where you – he stands there and you get your jersey and everything. But it’s unfortunate. It’s just really sad to be honest with you. It’s an honor and a privilege. With guys not going to the White House because they don’t like who the president is, I think that sets a bad precedent.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ On Friday, Curry sat down......to read the rest log on to BallerAlert.com (clickable link on profile)
