At-St, Children, and Dogs: When my toddler punches my dog, my dog growls at him. How do I stop my dog from growling at my son? Marnie Bell, studied at St Margaret's Anglican Girls' School Updated Fri Upvoted by Erika Wiggins, I trained all of my dogs to Canine Good Companion standards. and Caitie Foster, has 20+ yrs experience living with and learning about dogs. Get rid of it. If it can't follow basic directions by now, that kid is never going to be able to. Take it back to the hospital where you had it and tell them that the child just doesn't fit in to your family. They can arrange for a new home for the kid. ALTERNATIVELY you could teach your toddler to respect the dog. Growling is your warning. It's a VERY clear message that the dog is distressed about something (if your toddler punched me, I'd growl too). Your dog can't talk. Growling and body language is the only way he has to tell you that he's upset. So -Why are you letting the child punch the dog?! What is wrong with you?! You need to teach your child how to be gentle and respectful of your dog. If you don't, and the child's atrocious behavior continues, expect the next time to end in your child being bitten. Theres not much that grinds my gears as much as dogs being put down or labeled 'vicious because of stupid, irresponsible owners. Separate the 2 of them as much as possible until you can be the owner & parent your poor dog deserves. People like this do not deserve to have dogs or children 😡

What on earth could a 3 yr old do to “warrant” a gun to the chest??? Apparently they were in the process of arresting her mother (whom they beat while handcuffed, naturally), also pointed the gun at the head of the child’s grandmother, and pointed the gun at her when she did what any toddler would do and started wailing. The incident gave her one of the worst cases of child PTSD the expert they assigned has ever seen and she’ll need therapy well into her adult years.  Anyone with even a passing knowledge of gun safety knows that you do not point a gun at anyone you are not willing to kill. So best case scenario these officers were grossly incompetent and worst case they were willing to kill a child for crying. This settlement is the least they deserve. ^^^^ reblogging for the extra info

Bad, Bored, and Children: St. Louis day care accused of running a toddler 'Fight Club' 😮😮😳 A day care center in St. Louis encouraged toddlers to viciously brawl with each other in a "fight club," according to a lawsuit from the mother of one of the children and video of the incident that was released Wednesday. Nicole Merseal said her then-4-year-old son, and another child were instructed by teachers Mikayla Guliford and Tena Dailey, to punch and hit each other at the Adventure Learning Center in December, 2016, according to the suit filed earlier this year. Merseal, of St. Charles, Missouri, accused the day care in court documents of permitting another child "to intimidate and harm" her son while directing a "fight club." The video shows Merseal’s youngest son and another boy wearing Incredible Hulk toy fists and punching each other while a teacher looks on. One of Merseal's sons recorded the episode on his iPad and sent it to her. She then called the police and had them visit the day care and interview the director and staff. Her children were also questioned by investigators. In documents released by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, Jennifer Scott, the director of the center, said that when she confronted Guliford about the incident, she said the children "were bored" and that "we ran out of things to do." Scott fired Guliford and Dailey and contacted the Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline, according to the health department. Guliford admitted to having the children fight, according to state documents. She said she took the children to the lower floor of the building because of a broken heating system on the other floors. "I meant for the fighting with the Hulk Hands to be a stress release exercise," she said. "It did not last more than three or four minutes." Guliford said no children were hurt in the incident but "it was still a bad judgment call on my part." But the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office declined to prosecute the teachers.
Being Alone, Bad, and Cars: r/AskReddit u/ReichSmasher2018 7h What are redeeming qualities of humanity that nobody mentions? 8.9k 1.5k . Share TOP COMMENTS ▼ Tie YourTubesldiot 5h Once my mom and I were sitting in her car outside a grocery story, probably around 11 pm when we saw this toddler in the car next to us, on his own, who looked like he had been crying. So we smiled and waved at him and he smiled back and waved, then after a few minutes of this he fell asleep and we waited in our car to make sure whoever brought him there came back. We were sort of ranting about how awful it is to leave a toddler alone in a car especially so late at night, and how irresponsible the parent/guardian must have been, blah blah blah. Then the child's mother came back carrying cough syrup and baby pain relief. So we felt kind of bad for ranting about her, she had probably just panicked and had to get her kid something to make him feel better and had no one else to take care of him (I still don't think she should have left him in the car, but this was rural Ireland so statistics were in her favour). Anyway, the whole point of this ramble was that when we saw her come back, we went to pull out of our parking space, but as we did, three or four more cars pulled out too. I think we were all making sure this kid was ok, and I was just so touched by that moment. So l guess l'd say our greatest quality is our tendency to look out for others, especially when there's no incentive to do so Reply 76k Redditor tells heartwarming story of the wholesomeness of humanity
