Fun fact: If my younger sister was in a car accident and desperately needed a blood transfusion to live, and I was the only person on Earth who could donate blood to save her, and even though donating blood is a relatively easy, safe, and quick procedure no one can force me to give blood. Yes, even to save the life of a fully grown person, it would be ILLEGAL to FORCE me to donate blood if I didn’t want to. See, we have this concept called “bodily autonomy.” It’s this….cultural notion that a person’s control over their own body is above all important and must not be infringed upon.  Like, we can’t even take LIFE SAVING organs from CORPSES unless the person whose corpse it is gave consent before their death. Even corpses get bodily autonomy.  To tell people that they MUST sacrifice their bodily autonomy for 9 months against their will in an incredibly expensive, invasive, difficult process to save what YOU view as another human life (a debatable claim in the early stages of pregnancy when the VAST majority of abortions are performed) is desperately unethical. You can’t even ask people to sacrifice bodily autonomy to give up organs they aren’t using anymore after they have died.  You’re asking people who can become pregnant to accept less bodily autonomy than we grant to dead bodies.  reblogging for commentary  But, assuming the mother wasn’t raped, the choice to HAVE a baby and risk sacrificing their “bodily autonomy” is a choice that the mother made. YOu don’t have to have sex with someone. Cases of rape aside, it isn’t ethical to say abortion is justified. The unborn baby has rights, too.  First point: Bodily autonomy can be preserved, even if another life is dependent on it. See again the example about the blood donation.  And here’s another point: When you say that “rape is the exception” you betray something FUNDAMENTALLY BROKEN about your own argument. Because a fetus produced from sexual assault is biologically NO DIFFERENT than a fetus produced from consensual sex. No difference at all. If one is alive, so is the other. If one is a person, so is the other. If one has a soul, then so does the other. If one is a little blessing that happened for a reason and must be protected, then so is the other.  When you say that “Rape is the exception” what you betray is this: It isn’t about a life. This isn’t about the little soul sitting inside some person’s womb, because if it was you wouldn’t care about HOW it got there, only that it is a little life that needs protecting. When you say “rape is the exception” what you say is this: You are treating pregnancy as a punishment. You are PUNISHING people who have had CONSENSUAL SEX but don’t want to go through a pregnancy. People who DARED to have consensual sex without the goal of procreation in mind, and this is their “consequence.”  And that is gross.  ^ THIS. This is this this THIS THIS THIS. THIS!!!!! This is probably the strongest and well worded/supported argument for abortion that I have ever read. WHY THE FUCK HAS TUMBLR FLAGGED THIS?! i’M FUCKING FURIOUS!!! Yep, this was flagged for me too. Which is why I’m going to reblog it several time until Tumblr implodes. : atlinmerrick: dancinggrimm: truckyousasha: thekaraokeninja: fandomsandfeminism: generalmaluga: albinwonderland: fandomsandfeminism: betterthanabortion: “My body, my choice” only makes sense when someone else’s life isn’t at stake. My latest memes the Trump supporters, GOP, Religious Right & Anti-Amerians, Anti-Christians will only deny.: THE EVANGELICAL RIGHT DO NOT REPRESENTATIVES OF GOD IN THE LATE 1970S THE LEADERS OF THE GOP, THE AMERICAN CONSERVATIVE & RELIGIOUS RIGHT CHOSE TO LIE ABOUT GOD, OUR FOUNDERS, & OUR CONSTITUTION TO AMERICA. God Does Abortion & it is not a sin nor is it murder, so says God God says LIFE is only AFTER birth God says we are spirits in the womb, not life. God told us Not To Judge, that was his purview LIFE IN THE BIBLE The Bible And Abortion IS ONLY MENTIONED IN CONJUNCTION WITH Even pregnant women can be slaughtered (Hosea 13:16, Genesis 38:24). The foetus can be killed too (Hosea 9:16). It is permissible to induce a miscarriage (Numbers 5:21). THE BREATH OF LIFE, AFTER BIRTH 15-Verses On Breath of Life From The Bible A child less than one month old is has no value (Leviticus 27:6). Genesis 2:7 When conducting a census, ignore children under a month old (Numbers 3:15-16). Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. Spirit in the womb, life outside the womb. What God thinks Of Abortion Genesis 6:17 死神 "Behold, I, even I am bringing the flood of water upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life, from under heaven; everything that is on the earth shall perish. God Performs An Abortion Due To Adultery Job 27:3 God changes the water to something that causes the woman to miscarry or abort her unborn if she comitted adultery. For as long as life is in me, And the breath of God is in my nostrils, Job 33:4 Adultery is the sin, not abortion, nor is it muder per God "The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life. Numbers 5:12-31 Law of Jealousies, Psalm 104:30 26 The priest is then to take a handful of the grain offering as a memorial[c] offering and burn it on the altar; after that, he is to have the woman drink the water. 27 If she has made herself impure and been unfaithful to her husband, this will be the result: When she is made to drink the water that brings a curse and causes bitter suffering, it will enter her, her abdomen will swell and her womb will miscarry, and she will become a curse. 28 If, however, the woman has not made herself impure, but is clean, she will be cleared of guilt and will be able to have children. 29 This, then, is the law of jealousy when a woman goes astray and makes herself impure while married to her husband, You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; And You renew the face of the ground. Isaiah 42:5 Thus says God the LORD, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread out the earth and its offspring, Who gives breath to the people on it And spirit to those who walk in it, Isaiah 57:16 "For I will not contend forever, Nor will I always be angry; For the spirit would grow faint before Me, And the breath 30 The priest is to have her stand before the Lord and is to apply this entire law to her. 31 The husband will be innocent of any wrongdoing, but the woman will bear the consequences of her sin. of those whom I have made. Jeremiah 38:16 Life Only Outside The Womb, With The "Breath of Life" • We are Spirits in the womb & spirits are not life • The Commandment against murder does not apply But King Zedekiah swore to Jeremiah in secret saying, "As the LORD lives, who made this life for us, surely I will not put you to death nor will I give you over to the hand of these men who are seeking your life." The only time the word "Life" is mentioned in the Bible, is in conjunction with the "Breath of Life".
