VIDEO Finally. People need to realize aliens aren’t the answer for everything (when they use it to erase poc civilizations and how smart they were) (via TumbleOn) What’s really wild is that the native people literally told the Europeans “they walked” when asked how the statues were moved. The Europeans were like “lol these backwards heathens and their fairy tales guess it’s gonna always be a mystery!” Maori told Europeans that kiore were native rats and no one believed them until DNA tests proved it And the Iroquois told Europeans that squirels showed them how to tap maple syrup and no one believed them until they caught it on video Oral history from various First Nations tribes in the Pacific Northwest contained stories about a massive earthquake/tsunami hitting the coast, but no one listened to them until scientists discovered physical evidence of quakes from the Cascadia fault line. Roopkund Lake AKA “Skeleton Lake” in the Himalayas in India is eerie because it was discovered with hundreds of skeletal remains and for the life of them researchers couldn’t figure out what it was that killed them. For decades the “mystery” went unsolved. Until they finally payed closer attention to local songs and legend that all essentially said “Yah the Goddess Nanda Devi got mad and sent huge heave stones down to kill them”. That was consistent with huge contusions found all on their neck and shoulders and the weather patterns of the area, which are prone to huge inevitably deadly goddamn hailstones. https://www.facebook.com/atlasobscura/videos/10154065247212728/ Literally these legends were past down for over a thousand years and it still took researched 50 to “figure out” the “mystery”. 🙄 Adding to this, the Inuit communities in Nunavut KNEW where both the wrecks of the HMS Erebus and HMS Terror were literally the entire time but Europeans/white people didn’t even bother consulting them about either ship until like…last year.  “Inuit traditional knowledge was critical to the discovery of both ships, she pointed out, offering the Canadian government a powerful demonstration of what can be achieved when Inuit voices are included in the process. In contrast, the tragic fate of the 129 men on the Franklin expedition hints at the high cost of marginalising those who best know the area and its history. “If Inuit had been consulted 200 years ago and asked for their traditional knowledge – this is our backyard – those two wrecks would have been found, lives would have been saved. I’m confident of that,” she said. “But they believed their civilization was superior and that was their undoing.” https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/sep/16/inuit-canada-britain-shipwreck-hms-terror-nunavut “Oh yeah, I heard a lot of stories about Terror, the ships, but I guess Parks Canada don’t listen to people,” Kogvik said. “They just ignore Inuit stories about the Terror ship.” Schimnowski said the crew had also heard stories about people on the land seeing the silhouette of a masted ship at sunset. “The community knew about this for many, many years. It’s hard for people to stop and actually listen … especially people from the South.”  http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/north/sammy-kogvik-hms-terror-franklin-1.3763653 Indigenous Australians have had stories about giant kangaroos and wombats for thousands of years, and European settlers just kinda assumed they were myths. Cut to more recently when evidence of megafauna was discovered, giant versions of Australian animals that died out 41 000 years ago. Similarly, scientists have been stumped about how native Palm trees got to a valley in the middle of Australia, and it wasn’t until a few years ago that someone did DNA testing and concluded that seeds had been carried there from the north around 30 000 years ago… aaand someone pointed out that Indigenous people have had stories about gods from the north carrying the seeds to a valley in the central desert. oh man let me tell you about Indigenous Australian myths - the framework they use (with multi-generational checking that’s unique on the planet, meaning there’s no drifting or mutation of the story, seriously they are hardcore about maintaining integrity) means that we literally have multiple first-hand accounts of life and the ecosystem before the end of the last ice age it’s literally the oldest accurate oral history of the world.   Now consider this: most people consider the start of recorded history to be with  the Sumerians and the Early Dynastic period of the Egyptians.  So around 3500 BCE, or five and a half thousand years agoThese highly accurate Aboriginal oral histories originate from twenty thousand years ago at least Ain’t it amazing what white people consider history and what they don’t? I always said disservice is done to oral traditions and myth when you take them literally. Ancient people were not stupid.

I found this translated version, it’s a shame the character descriptions are still in Japanese, so I’ve taken the liberty to translate them here. (if anyone knows the source please let me know and I’ll add a link)It’s an older entry so many characters are not introduced yet (no Australia! ;_;) EDIT: Check out the edited version HERE! (bigger image size) Grandpa Rome: A spirited old man.  He’s very strong!Italy: The protagonist.  It’s a bit of a coincidence that he got his ahoge. (Italy: Ve~ Germany~)Romano: Italy’s older brother. It’s hard to tell whether he’s confident or timid.Norway: He’s mysterious and can see fairies!Korea: If his ahoge has a face, then it’s Korea! Try tell him apart by the face.Austria: If he keeps saying “obaka obaka” (fools!), then he’s Austria! Remember there’s no “al” in Austria!Turkey: If he says “beranme~” (bloody fools!) and likes sweet food, that’s him!Greece: If there’s a cat nearby, that’s him!  He thinks a lot.Iceland: In his own special category. If his hair curls inwards strangely that’s him.Canada: If he looks gentle and is with a bear, it’s Canada!America: If he has a small cowlick where his hair parts, it’s America!Sweden: If he speaks Tohoku dialect, then it’s definitely Su-san.Estonia: He’s supposed to be the best looking guy of the whole manga… England: He’s blunt, and he uses magic and sees fairies. Overall a fantastical guy.Sealand: He believes he’s a recognized nation without doubt. A mischievous boy.Germania: An old pal of Grandpa Rome. Doesn’t speak much and is very intimidating.Germany: If Italy has him wrapped around his finger, and he’s diligent and buff, then it must be him.Prussia: If there’s a bird nearby, and he goes “kesesese”, it’s him!France: He’s a big brother overflowing with love! Usually good looking.Ukraine: If her boobs make SFXs and she goes “Russia-chan, Russia-chan”, then it’s Older Sister Ukraine.Seychelles:  She wears two pigtails with big red ribbons.Belarus: If she’s scary, that’s her.Egypt: Still many unexplained mysteriesHoly Roman Empire: You can tell it’s him by his sideburns!China: The only girl in the Allies…or not.Poland: If he always says “Arienshi-” (no way~) then it must be him. Actually his stomach is pretty weak too.Lithuania: If he’s played around by Russia or Poland then it’s him.Lichtenstein: If Switzerland is nearby then it’s definitely her.Belgium: if she has almond-shaped eyes and speaks Shiga dialect, then it’s her.Taiwan: If she wears a lot of flowers and her eye color is black, then it’s her.Hungary: If she’s holding a frying pan, it’s definitely her.Switzerland: If he holds a gun and lectures people, it’s most likely him.Denmark: He doesn’t wear any accessories (or “plain-looking”, but I fully disagree :P)!  If he speaks with an Ibaraki dialect, it’s him.Japan: Even if he doesn’t look it, he’s an old man!Finland: Even though he has a cute face, he’s very strong! Moi!Hong Kong: A pretty robust and strong-willed guy.Russia: If he’s holding a water pipe, that’s him.  Only the end of his hair curls slightly.Spain: The boss everyone loves who goes “fusososo”. (I should add that the question is more accurately “Does this character always look happy WITH NO REAL REASON?” XDD)Latvia: If some weird kid is always bothering him and sometimes he just ends up picking a fight with Russia, that’s him.

Be Like, Doctor, and Fucking: @Dr_Sweets23 House was a weird show. Patients would be rushed the hospital with unexplained fevers and heart problems. And House would come in like "did you check his asshole for toothpicks?" And they'd be like "damn u right." 8/4/18, 1:43 PM 13.6K Retweets 39.9K Likes hst3000: libertarirynn: skepticphantom: libertarirynn: melonmemes: Nothin gets past House✋🏽🚫 I love that there are people sharing this who might not realize there is literally an episode where a fucking toothpick was the culprit. On the flip side of that example I remember an episode where House was convinced a womans condition was being caused by a tick, but repeated searches of her body found none, until towards the end of the episode where he was like “theres one place we havnt looked..” and he pulled out a tick hanging around her snatch. Didn’t he basically steal that patient and snatch the bug out of her cootch when they were trapped in an elevator together? The only reason he didn’t get charged with sexual assault, have his medical license set ablaze, and get locked in jail for the rest of his life was because it happened to be the right guess and House rarely faces any sort of serious consequences for utterly outrageous behavior 😂 There’s actually an entire episodes that revolves around the consequences of letting him do that sort of stuff because he’s usually right. Cuddy almost lets a suicidally depressed man who’s basically locked into his body go without treatment to drive that in to House. That’s why I said “rarely“. There are some episodes that go for high drama, like the one you mentioned or the one where Wilson’s girlfriend dies. But in most day-to-day episodes he does things no doctor would ever do without being litigated to hell and back. All while Cuddy reprimands him with her tits hanging out, which as we all know is how hospital directors typically dress. Not that I’m complaining, I realize it’s a fictional show that relies on drama and suspension of disbelief to be interesting.
