        HUMANDoD Kagami merupakan salah satu legenda di Jepang. Kata “cermin ungu” sangat terkutuk. Jika orang muda mengingatnya hingga berusia 20 tahun, mereka akan mati. Ada rumor kalau legenda ini disebabkan oleh sebuah cermin ungu dan gadis pemiliknya. Konon, seorang gadis merasa sangat bahagia saat mendapat hadiah cermin dari ibunya. Suatu ketika dia mewarnainya dengan warna ungu. Dia hanya ingin menghiasnya seperti yang biasa dilakukan oleh para gadis terhadap barang-barang kesukaannya. Namun ternyata, cermin tersebut tak lagi terlihat indah. Walaupun dia berusaha untuk menghapus warna ungu tersebut, cermin itu tak pernah lagi sama indahnya dengan sebelumnya. Beberapa waktu kemudian, dia meninggal karena sakit pada usia 20 tahun (kesehatannya memang kurang bagus sejak anak-anak). Dengan penyesalan mendalam karena telah merusak cermin tersebut, dia bergumam “cermin ungu, cermin ungu, cermin ungu…” hingga saat terakhirnya tiba. Suatu ketika dia mewarnainya dengan warna ungu. Dia hanya ingin menghiasnya seperti yang biasa dilakukan oleh para gadis terhadap barang-barang kesukaannya. Namun ternyata, cermin tersebut tak lagi terlihat indah. Walaupun dia berusaha untuk menghapus warna ungu tersebut, cermin itu tak pernah lagi sama indahnya dengan sebelumnya. Beberapa waktu kemudian, dia meninggal karena sakit pada usia 20 tahun (kesehatannya memang kurang bagus sejak anak-anak). Dengan penyesalan mendalam karena telah merusak cermin tersebut, dia bergumam “cermin ungu, cermin ungu, cermin ungu…” hingga saat terakhirnya tiba. Cermin ungu ini juga pernah diangkat dalam sebuah film horor berjudul Murasaki Kagami (2010). Kisahnya bertutur tentang dendam seorang gadis muda kesepian yang secara bertahap tumbuh di dalam sebuah cermin selama bertahun-tahun. Minako adalah seorang anggota klub tenis di sekolahnya. Klub tersebut membutuhkan penginapan untuk training camp mendatang, jadi mereka memutuskan untuk menggunakan gedung sekolah lama yang sudah ditinggalkan. Di dalamnya, terdapat cermin besar yang menjadi subyek dari sebuah legenda urban sepanjang yang bisa diingat oleh mereka. 10 tahun lalu, 2 gadis memutuskan untuk mencoba kebenaran legenda cermin ungu dengan mengucapkan kata “cermin ungu” sambil melihat ke dalamnya Segera setelah momen tersebut, satu orang gadis berakhir dengan kulit muka yang robek, sementara gadis lainnya menjadi sepenuhnya gila, dan karena kutukan cermin berwarna ungu, gadis-gadis yang menonton film ini berubah menjadi janda.
