takamatsu-kun: Can I please just talk about MCU Proxima Midnight I love her so much and have SO MANY feelings about her aaaaah Y’all know I love reinterpreting Marvel aliens I like so here are some notes on my design of her because I love coming up with alien physiology/biology:- I turned her warpaint into facial markings so that’s just her skin now- She got a lot of markings tbh because I want them- She’s got very fine scales as opposed to human like skin, cream colored scales are a lot finer and harder to see, you can’t really tell unless you’re looking VERY closely (which means soft tummy huehuehue) skin texture’s similar to a snake in terms of feel but the scales are fairly tough, especially the closer you get to the spine.- Back spines can raise and lower like hackles but can also be ‘locked’ down when she needs to wear something (tho they’ll flare up when any feelings are at level 100)- Shiny blue iridescence that’s primarily confined to the darkest blue scales- “White” scales are really just blue reflecting the light so she has that shimmery night sky look because hello somebody- Light blue lines are for regulating body temperature- particularly for cooling. Skin is very thin there with blood vessels being close to the surface (hence why they’re blue bc her blood is a light blue color) to let off heat. The vents can expand and contract based on whether she needs to hold or release body heat. (She’s been described in canon to have a really low body temperature, actually feeling cold to the touch so she’s constantly venting heat through cooling her blood.) They’re also very sensitive ofc, important information.- Sharp nails - Also sharp teeth because I must remain on brand- And ofc she’s buff as hell HNNNNNNNNN BUFF ❤️❤️❤️❤️: takamatsu-kun: Can I please just talk about MCU Proxima Midnight I love her so much and have SO MANY feelings about her aaaaah Y’all know I love reinterpreting Marvel aliens I like so here are some notes on my design of her because I love coming up with alien physiology/biology:- I turned her warpaint into facial markings so that’s just her skin now- She got a lot of markings tbh because I want them- She’s got very fine scales as opposed to human like skin, cream colored scales are a lot finer and harder to see, you can’t really tell unless you’re looking VERY closely (which means soft tummy huehuehue) skin texture’s similar to a snake in terms of feel but the scales are fairly tough, especially the closer you get to the spine.- Back spines can raise and lower like hackles but can also be ‘locked’ down when she needs to wear something (tho they’ll flare up when any feelings are at level 100)- Shiny blue iridescence that’s primarily confined to the darkest blue scales- “White” scales are really just blue reflecting the light so she has that shimmery night sky look because hello somebody- Light blue lines are for regulating body temperature- particularly for cooling. It’s also so you don’t spread it to grandma, grandpa, mom, dad, Uncle Bob with diabetes, your pregnant cousin Jill, etc. Now go wash your hands and follow the last two hashtag. You follow it, the other hashtags will lead to the first 4 happening. #dontkillgrandpa #dontkillgranma #dontkillunclebob #dontkilljillandbaby #quitwhining #quitbeingaselfishprickhttps://www.instagram.com/p/B917299FaDC8eS04vGFUId0N-NaQ1Hk6JXXs6c0/?igshid=1a5wx8z2b3qkq Note: These are CONFIRMED cases from testing. These are not the actual numbers because; a) many people (especially those in late 20s to mid 30s) are a-symptomatic which means you can be infected with the virus and NOT KNOW IT because YOU DONT GET SICK but you can still spread it to others! b) many people will have mild symptoms and just treat themselves at home (which is absolutely what you SHOULD be doing. you only need to go to the ER if you are having serious issues) and so are not being tested. Though, a lot of these people are just assuming they have a cold or allergies and still going out. THATS why they’re shutting things down. Its to keep people from congregating in closed spaces where the virus can move from person to person easily. So wash your hands, stay home, and just cool your heels for now. Dang, why’s Louisiana taking it so hard? NY is taking it harder than everyone else though Yea but were tiny down here. New Orleans is a major international port and tourism mecha, though. Small population but high tourism so a lot of activity and movement to pass it around. And here’s a chart comparing the death rates to the seasonal flu so if y’all could shut the absolute fuck up about them basically being the same thing that would be great. Remember we have reliable vaccine and treatment for the seasonal flu. This is a novel coronavirus. Novel in this instance means new. We are not nearly as equipped to deal with it as we are with the flu and it’s proving to be far more deadly already.: goat-yells-at-everything: nickyvmlp: segasister: nickyvmlp: goat-yells-at-everything: cannibalgurlcreations-blog: This is for those of you saying “We only have so many cases, why are we shutting stuff down?” It’s so it doesn’t do anymore growing so you stay at “we only have so many cases”. The other thing is that cats have a very good sense of time and tend to like regular schedules. If OP’s family members pray every day at the same times, in the same place, the cat knows the drill and probably considers this an official Household Activity which requires Feline Supervision. thebaconsandwichofregret: asexual-not-asexual-detective: Am I the only one who thinks that hitting a kid and abuse are different things? Like, if I ever had a kid, I wouldn’t spank their ass raw or something like that. But a bop on the mouth or the ear pull or a smack upside the head? Yea. Those are behavior modifiers. Except they’re not. The studies done by the trained psychologists in this joke show that little kids don’t associate being hit with the thing they’ve done wrong. Very small children only understand consequences that are directly caused by the thing they did. Steal a biscuit, biscuit tastes good. Then for no reason mummy hit me. Very different to stole a biscuit, now no biscuit after dinner because I stole a biscuit. And they also show that when a child is old enough to understand why they are being hit that non-physical punishment is equally as effective and less mentally harmful in the long run. Do you know who benefits the most from hitting as a punishment? The parent. It gives a satisfaction rush. Parents do it because it makes them feel good. Basically kids have two stages: too young to understand why they are being hit so physical punishment is useless for anything other than teaching a child that bigger stronger people can hit you whenever they like (Which sounds like the same lesson you would learn from abuse) And the second stage is old enough to be reasoned with so many punishment options are available and you chose physical violence because it makes *you* feel better, which is an abusive action. The only time a person should ever use violence against another human being, of any age, is to stop that person from being violent themselves. : thebaconsandwichofregret: asexual-not-asexual-detective: Am I the only one who thinks that hitting a kid and abuse are different things? yaboybergara: wearewatcher: WATCHER LOG 002:Shane here! With that January 10th launch around the corner, we’re gonna be sharing lil bits that we’ve been keeping secret for the past few months. So here’s a photo of Ryan on the day we bought our first few pieces of gear at a local camera shop. Minutes earlier when we actually checked out at the register we were both filled with a palpable mix of excitement and (completely unjustified) dread, as this was the moment we started spending actual money on a thing that had thus far existed exclusively in our three brains and in Steven’s weird graph paper notebooks that he loves so much. You’re likely thinking, “But Ryan doesn’t look nervous at all here!” And you’re right. Why? They gave us a free hat with the camera, that’s why. Worries evaporate when you get a free hat, and with a renewed sense of creative enthusiasm I asked Ryan to pose like a cinematographer showing off his sick new haul. He looks kinda gassy but otherwise, dude nailed it.Anyway, if you haven’t yet, swing by youtube.com/watcher (link in bio) and peep the channel trailer. And subscribe if you haven’t yet. No harm in that. If you already have? Hey, thanks. Uh, what else? Reduce, reuse, recycle. Don’t litter. Support your local library. Alright. Plenty left for us to do before launch, so it’s about time I hit the dusty trail. So, if I ever get married, I fully expect a catmobile.  One of the other reasons why they gave cats to each other was for their valuable skills as mousers. Cats were able to control rodent populations around their properties. Also, Norse myths are thought to have the earliest literary descriptions of the Norwegian Forest Cat. They were described as large, strong cats that drew Freya’s chariot and were so heavy that not even Thor, God of Thunder, could lift them from the floor. (Source) They kinda live up to the legend, too. Your average Norwegian Forest Cat is twenty pounds of solid muscle, with claws large and strong enough to climb solid rock. They’ve been known to attack bears when defending their territory. And yet they’re one of the cuddliest breeds out there, particularly noted for being patient with small children. I have a Norwegian mix, and can attest that she is the cuddliest cat but also insane enough to try and fight a bear. Viking cats “FIGHT ME” Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, still could not lift this cat. I always love it when this post comes round because a) giant kitties who Thor can’t lift and b) that picture omg boar riding and flower throwing is a good thing : The Vikings would give kittens to newlywed brides as an essential part of a new household.
